Coyotes at Flames
COYOTES (26-27-5) at FLAMES (35-16-7)
2pm MT - SNW
The boys are back in town for a Family Day matinee. Mike Smith starts his third straight game, going against his old club who is sure to be desperate to stay in the wild card mix. Flames look to build upon a hard fought win in Pittsburgh and kick off their three game home stand with a victory.
Coyotes
Alex Galchenyuk - Nick Cousins - Clayton Keller
Richard Panik - Derek Stepan - Vinnie Hinostroza
Conor Garland - Jordan Weal - Christian Fischer
Lawson Crouse - Brad Richardson - Josh Archibald
Oliver Ekman-Larsson - Niklas Hjalmarsson
Jakob Chychrun - Alex Goligoski
Ilya Lyubushkin - Jordan Oesterle
Darcy Kuemper
Calvin Pickard
Flames
Johnny Gaudreau - Sean Monahan - Elias Lindholm
Matthew Tkachuk - Mikael Backlund - Michael Frolik
Sam Bennett - Mark Jankowski - Austin Czarnik
Andrew Mangiapane - Derek Ryan - Garnet Hathaway
Mark Giordano - TJ Brodie
Noah Hanifin - Travis Hamonic
Oliver Kylington - Rasmus Andersson
Mike Smith
Sportselect Info
Coyotes Win = 3.6
Goes to Shootout = 3.9
Flames Win = 1.55
Over 6.5 = 1.9
Under 6.5 = 1.55
Flames are typically junk early back from long road trips and a Mike Smith game at home leads me to predicting they will need to win a barn burner. While the Coyotes did just shut-out the Leafs, I'm guessing they aren't so fortunate tonight, 6-4 Flames. GFG!

I believe you mean GDT (game day thread) as the preview thread. GT is reserved for the game thread during play. If you go into advanced editing you can change the prefix.
Also...did anyone else do a double take at top line center Nick Cousins? Jeeeeeeezus.

Being as how everyone is so amused by Edmonton today (rightfully so), this thread can probably pull double duty.

Watch out, I've been told the 'Yotes are a wagon this year.
Just hope the boys bring the effort to match.
For real though, I really hope the Flames don't look past them just because they're pretty far down in the standings.

Outside of the Isles x2 in the next weeks, Flames play a number of teams well below them...so, like last time pre AS break, time to again make hay. Though in the WC, the turtle race below has many teams still playing very meaningful games.

To be technically correct, every single game for the rest of the year is against a team currently below them in the standings.

Just picked up this beauty at my kids hockey tournament. Someone who works for the Flames named Jodie (Schriner?) is from Fruitvale, so whenever we have tournaments here, there is a crapton of Flames swag. My wife is almost as big of a Flames fan as I am, so she entered me into the silent auction a few times. Apparently she wanted to get it as badly as I did. Next step is to get a shadow box to frame it in, and with that the transformation of our downstairs family room into a hockey shrine begins.
I'm hoping this brings a little bit of good luck for tonight. Me and Flames jerseys have never really gotten along in the past.

Don't worry, I have a 17-5-5 record going for me when I DON'T attend Flames home games this season. By not attending yet again today, I can be sure to offset your bad luck so far.

Much appreciated. I want to get right of this bagel ASAP, as I don't want to be bringing and bad karma if I go to any more games down the stretch.

Everyone from Fruitvale is related in some way, shape, or form.

Richard Panik - Derek Stepan - Vinnie Hinostroza
Conor Garland - Jordan Weal - Christian Fischer
Lawson Crouse - Brad Richardson - Josh Archibald
After years of suckitude, where in God's name is the talent? Other than Keller, it's a whole bunch of meh.

Might be hard to justify today as both Czarnik and Mangiapane scored last game.
