Default February 16 with eleven games!

The Saturday OOT looks great as most games have teams battling it out for playoff spots and positioning. The first game looks to be the ony dud. Austin Matthews playing in front of his hometown is something special.

The Flyers keep on winning, this time 6-5 in overtime. They were lucky as they blew a 5-1 lead in the third period, Mantha tied it with seven seconds left in regulation time. Fun game to watch.

The Blues and Avalanche are tied 0-0 after twenty minutes.

Who the hell is Drew Remenda anyways, and why would anyone care about what he thinks?

“When you watch Connor McDavid lately he is doing everything he can to get the win.”

And what this has done is eliminate one of the playoff spots for the group fighting for scraps. With STL at +7 and DAL +6, that leaves:

MIN +2
VAN +0
COL +0
CHI -1
ARI -2, and
EDM -4

fighting for one spot.

I still think COL is the best of the bunch, but one thing is for sure... the Oilers are NOT making the playoffs!

Colorado has been trash for a while though. Chicago is the only one in that group heading in the right direction.

He was an assistant coach for SJ back in the day.

“Is there anyone who creates more room on a crossover than Connie McDigDig?”

Sure, but there is still roughly 25 games left. Any one of these teams could get hot.

It really is surprising he was a Sharks assistant for 4 years, but looking it up, with George Kingston as the coach, made some sense. Remenda had worked a bit with Hockey Canada and coached the U of C one year, so obviously the connection to Kingston came there.

More Remenda sagacity:

“Is there anyone that gains more space on a crossover than Connor McDavid?”

They probably don’t need to show up for the whole game.

Almost an “oopsie” for Koskinen there.

They are a well coached, opportunistic team. They have not had much offensive zone time, but have pretty effectively also neutered the entire Oilers roster.

That is an extremely thin resumé for a colour commentator on a national hockey broadcast.
