Fer f*** sakes, it was a perfectly clean hit, shoulder to chest. A tiny fraction late maybe, but clean nonetheless. The guy had his head down and got his bell rung, nothing more.

But yea, Bennett will probably get at least a game...because NHL.

It didn't look like a head shot though, just late.

There are teams in this league that have gone multiple years without a single suspension. Call me a tin foil hat guy if you want....there is some bias at the league office.

I generally agree with you, but I have a hard time not seeing the Dumba non-suspension rationalized the same way.

What does no longer isn’t good enough mean? It is good enough now?

You have to respect Bennett for not completely destroying the kid. Didn’t leave his feet, didn’t head hunt, shoulder through body, marginally late at best (0.1 to 0.2 seconds late is hardly disastrous) that hit is seen as a beauty even just 5 years ago and honestly looking at the Dumba/Backlund hit in comparison and th context behind the hit I just don’t see how this is suspension worthy.

Tkachuk on the other hand should get at least 2 games, it’s no different than the elbow to doughty and it’s on a star player; yea he totally should get the book for at least 2 maybe even 3 because he’s a repeat offender. But man the Sharks were running around like goons all night, chirping the bench and trying to stir up #### so good on Bennett for laying down the law in his rink.

League is probably going to take a long hard look at it because idiot talking heads like Shannon keep banging on about it. It’s like Shannon figures if he makes enough noise about it the league will have to suspend him. Correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t Shannon the bonehead who had to point out the Tkachuk spear from the bench that got him suspended last year.

The only thing Bennett should have done differently is gone after Dell.

I am glad Sam went after someone. That was cheap by Dell.

Bennett’s hit was late. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him get a game. Tkachuk getting 2-3 for that seems odd. He wasn’t even facing Karlsson when it happened and it seemed more like just his arm swinging around after he went into the boards. No way is that more games than Gios hit.

Again, teams in this league have gone multiple years without a suspension...Flames fans worry about two in one game lol

Hopefully we don't get a thing out of this, but knowing our history and track record, it wouldn't surprise me.

If refs can't do their jobs, go ahead and suspend him. Flames can take up their own vigilante work, and still win games with players being absent.

That’s not rationalizing the hit. You play hockey with your head up to protect yourself.

Suggesting players shouldn’t be responsible for the fundamentals of protecting themselves is just outright ridiculous and only makes the game more dangerous.

Do you want less players hurt or do you just want hitting out of the game?

Should we cross streets with our eyes closed because pedestrians have the right of way?

Was shocked Kunitz didn’t get 2 games, elbows to heads are gutless plays and should be dealt with accordingly; This is the bad you get with Tkachuk and I’m fine with that as long as he doesn’t make it too habitual.

League reviews EVERYTHING. Goodrow gets an automatic game for the instigator unless there's a major change of heart. Everything else up to league.
