That is a really great article by Haynes. I'm happy to see how candid Peters is. I think the local journalists are going to appreciate this coach as far as his willingness to talk details.

I'm interested to see how Ryan gets used this season. When he signed here, he mentioned that he was here as a "middle six" guy. Haynes says Ryan will slot in on the bottom six. Peters says, depending on the situation, he may be put out to take a right-handed draw on the top line. There is so much more versatility, on paper at least, this season.

And thanks to James Mirtle, he really seems to have taken the suggestions in this thread to heart.

Subscribed. I'll remember this, Mirtle. Good on ya, I have a ton of respect for anyone who listens to the fans.

Oooo and they let you pay with Apple Pay (entire transaction done with a fingerprint reading from your phone). That is handy. Love it when websites do that. SUBSCRIBED.

Thanks for the support everyone.

To be clear: We're not done expanding. The markets that do well will continue to get more staff and budget. I hope Calgary is a huge success, and we can have the best sports section in the city.

Hope you can come to our free event later this month.

I've been on the fence for a while about the Athletic but bringing in Haynes has got me to sign up!

I subscribed with their Labour Day discount a week ago. I've been impressed with the NHL content so far, and adding more local coverage and Down Goes Brown makes me happy.

Haynes and Cruickshank are huge additions. Between them and Kent Wilson, we'll get a good balance of views from most types of analysis.

I'd like to see more video analysis from Bourne, but he's probably spread thin.

Well well well guess I'll be jumping on board shortly. It's going to kill me to see Haynes links and not be able to read them.

I have never paid for an online news subscription before, but the addition of Haynes to The Athletic has completely changed my view on it. I'm working the numbers to see if I can make it fit in my budget.

Anyone know what their mobile app is like? Does it show real-time scores like TheScore?

It does show real time scores, but I don't believe there are push notifications but I could be completely wrong. I love the app for browsing and reading articles though.

signed up today with the 50% discount....

Glad to hear they are expanding on the flames content because it's lacking quite a bit. Am also disappointed to see nothing for the miami dolphins, yes the ones that continue to "....make me cry, but there's nothing i can do....."

I was really hoping to get some more podcasts, etc... Curious how much content comes up over the course of the year. If it's not substantially more for the flames/dolphins, I doubt I'd renew my subscription.
