The Lightning take a 4-0 lead during the second period. The Kings finally get on the board, nice goal by Wagner. Nice shot to get the Kings retired commentator Bob Miller, on the big screen, he did play by play for 44 years!

Kucherov is on a 7 game multi point streak with 21 points in that span (4 points tonight still a period left against LA)

Pretty much running away with the Art Ross at this point

I'm just guessing since he didn't look bad when he left the game and Green said he'd miss tomorrow but he probably won't be out for long. I think he got lucky.

Hopefully it is nothing serious - he is a heck of a fun player to watch. Such an awkward collision but nothing overtly dirty on the play just unfortunate, him getting a two minute minor for hooking or interference is pretty inconsequential all things considered and there is absolutely nothing there that would come close to supplemental discipline. With any luck it will be like Parayko when he was tied up with Strome and his knee bent all awkward.

Final scores
https://scores.nbcsports.com/nhl/sco...p?day=20190103
http://sportsstats.cbc.ca/news/NHL-R...ate=01-03-2019

The Bhawks can thank their goalie, Collin Delia, for getting the 1 point as the Islanders won 3-2 in OT. The guy faced 50 shots as the Bhawks basically showed up and played only for the 2nd period. The other 2 periods were owned by the Islanders as they had a 14-3 edge in shots in the 1st period and 18-3 in the 3rd period. Barzal with 2 goals and another guy named Toews scored the GWG. Lehner won his 6th straight game in net. Barry Trotz has a chance at coach of the year as the Isles are hovering around a playoff spot.

The Wild beat the Leafs 4-3 in reg time with Parise scoring the GWG early in the 3rd period. Dubnyk had his voodoo magic working for him as faced 41 shots and bailed his team out in the 3rd period as the Leafs out shot the Wild 19-4. The Leafs had a 2-0 lead in the 1st period with Marner scoring both of them, the first one was just 7 seconds into the game. The matinee start was for kids to be involved as it is still Christmas break. The NBCSN link mentions that "it was a flashy opening ceremony with children dressed up as players, referees and announcers. There were even miniature versions of Leafs coach Mike Babcock and famed Hockey Night in Canada commentator Don Cherry."

The Blues get a surprise 5-2 victory over the Captials. The Caps had a 2-1 lead in the 2nd period before they ran out of energy. The Blues took over in the 3rd period as they out shot the Caps 14-2. OV gets his 30th goal of the season. Washington is only 3 points up on the 9th place Islanders.

Talk about game, set, and match. The Lightning crushed the Kings with their potent PP going 3/4 and the PK at 4/5. Tampa Bay won 6-2. Having special teams with those stats, no wonder the Bolts have not lost in reg time in 16 games! Kucherov with 4 points, Stamkos with 3 points, and 6 different goal scorers for Tampa.

The Sabres defeated the Panthers 4-3 in reg time without Eichel in the line up. Skinner had 2 goals.

After a scoreless 1st period, the Hurricanes made it 3-0 after 2 periods and then 4-0 early in the 3rd before the Flyers nearly came back to make it 4-3. Teravainen scored the insurance goal as Carolina won 5-3.

Carey Price with the 33 save SHUTOUT as the Habs won 2-0 over the Canucks. Markstrom was decent in net for the Canucks. That was a freak injury to Pettersson and hopefully gets playing again quickly.

Hindsight and sobriety are 20/20.

It was a 2 minute hooking penalty as they called the exact same play on Schaller earlier.

Ugh, the Knights currently up 3-2 over the Ducks after the 2nd. They just refuse to go away.

Hopefully the Flames can keep finding ways to get points so they can stay ahead of the pack. With the Ducks falling off lately, it's starting to look like a 3-way dog fight for the division between Calgary, Vegas, and SJ.

That sounds like fun. I will take it after the last few years.

Yeah really not the end of the world...pretty much a lock for a divisional playoff spot if the Ducks continue to fall and the wheels don't fall off the Flames.

THIS is the issue with Mike Smith costing us games though...sure they are still "doing fine" but one slump and there goes first place. Flames should have a cushion

On another note you guys bumped the wrong thread...its the 4th
