I'm such a big biography reader, I love Rock Bios.

Must Reads would be:
Scar Tissue - Anthony Kiedis
I Am Ozzy - Ozzy Osbourne
The Heroin Diaries - Nikki Sixx
The Dirt - Motley Crüe
Jay-Z - Decoded
Slash - Slash
Keith Richards - Life

Just to name a few

Into Thin Air - John Krakauer (an account of the '97 Everest disaster)

I can read this book over and over, usually once a year.

Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourt. A memoir of an impoverished Irish Catholic growing up in Limerick, Ireland. Won the Pulitzer prize in 1997.

Killer Angles by Michael Shaara. Tells the story of the battle of Gettysburg in the first person from some of the military leaders of both sides. Won the Pulitzer prize in 1975.

If your into sports history. Try The House That Ruth Built: A New Stadium, The First Yankees Championship, And The Redemption of 1923. Very interesting look into Major League Baseball in the early 1920's and the shift from "Scientific Baseball" to the home run age lead by Babe Ruth. The book is as much about John McGraw and the New York Giants, as it is about Babe Ruth and the New York Yankees.

I'll second that read.

Off the top of my head at this exact moment, 2 that I liked are The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot and Following Atticus by Tom Ryan.

I read a couple of excellent books about Everest in the last month or so
Into Thin Air is about the 1997 Mt. Everest disaster
High Crimes covers some of the more recent disasters on the Mountain

They are excellent books to read back to back - read Into Thin Air first.

Oops didn't see it was already referenced (Into Thin Air) - but still follow up that one with High Crimes (particularly you Bigtime)

I find the 8000m mountains entirely fascinating, K2 in particular seems to relish killing climbers. Annapurna is a beast too.
