Flames website has Elliott as starter.

Too early to rest goalies for no reason.

Playoff spot not clinched and valuable positioning still to be determined.

Elliot has only started 38 games this season. If anything, getting him into the flow right now while we're playing every second day will only help prepare him for a similar workload in the playoffs. Rest him once things are a bit more clear standing wise.

So is the Flames app. They have the game at 5 pm in their release of Ferland back with the team and 6 pm on the schedule. Looks like it is 6 pm Calgary time according to NHL website.

Don't we play COL in a couple of games? Seems like the ideal time to give Johnson the start rather than tonight.

This is not likely an indication of GG's lack of belief in Lazar, as much as it is a reward to Freddie for being such a good foot soldier this year as the extra forward. Freddie's attitude from everything I have heard has been exceptional - working hard at practices and in the weight room, being a positive factor around the team etc.

I'm pretty confident Chad will have a bounce back game tonight. Have to rotate him in eventually. You know Elliot will be fired up for St.Louis

Gotta think that unless Elliott has some nagging injuries, and he certainly might, he will start tonight.

There is no evidence of this

Johnson confirms he is the starter.

According to Millions' twitter.

The pressure is on the Chad to bounce back. It was pretty horrific last game.

Interesting on Chad. Gave up a couple of bad ones in his last game. You need to go with the hot hand at this juncture. Unless Elliot is carrying some sort of injury.

I don't mind seeing Johnson getting a game here. It will be good to rotate goalies.

Hamilton playing tonight is just reward for him being patient for his chance. Not a bad team for him to be playing against. Also gives the team another player on the dot (Plus Penalty-killing option).

Is Hathaway still with the team? If so, has he been converted to a regular call-up? I can see him suiting up against the Blues.

Hathaway is still with the team, yes.

Goal thoughts: Give Elliott a night off after his streak and then he's rested against his former team on Saturday. Johnson had moments against the Bruins where he looked completely unfocused and others where he was razor sharp. Unfortunately those moments where he wasn't all resulted in goals. I hope he's on tonight. We've all seen how good he can be.

Also, regarding the comment below about an easy start vs. the Avs. If the coach believes that to be the case, then why not put your #1 in their to give yourself the best shot to grab those 2 points?

Don't like it.

Should have given him an easy start against the Av's. If he gets lit up again tonight it'll be disastrous for his confidence.

I don't like Johnson getting the start. Hopefully he got rid of all the suck against Boston.

Seeing how Elliott played during his last game in Nashville, it makes sense to give Johnson the start tonight and Elliott on Saturday against St Louis.
