Interested to see if they cut their losses at some point and save their better arms for tomorrow. On the flip side, no reason not to sit Springer down if he's hurting.

Ok - pointless rant over.
A Rangers top would be more colour appropriate

Merrifield HBP on the first pitch.

He's ticked. For good reason. That didn't look good.

Any player who would get hit in the head would be pissed. Intentional or not.

Team getting lit up and first pitch of the 5th pitcher and his first pitch is a HBP?

True, but the lookback more more of a "you did this on purpose" which I don't think it was. There's no vitriol between these teams aside from the jitters getting the better of him.

Question: does a pitcher covering home also have to allow a lane for the 3rd base runner? It looked like the pitcher was completely blocking the plate on the passed ball. That could be dangerous for the pitcher and runner.

Good question - I thought the same rule applies, but not sure.

Regardless, pretty stupid of a pitcher to block the plate - they aren't wearing the armor that a catcher is wearing

Key strikeout. Inning ending DP still available. Though Frazier's not easy to double up.

I think this is Gausman's last batter regardless given his pitch count.
