It's nice having one really high-quality watch. At first I thought it might spoil me and I'd want more...but I am totally satisfied with it. If it's the only watch I have for the rest of my life, then that is absolutely fine with me. Not to say that there aren't 15 other watches I buy if I hit the jackpot.
Just make sure you really really like orange if that's your big-money watch.
|
The orange is what the push it over the edge element is to me. It just adds a touch of industrial tool diver to an already ultra classy watch.
50% of the time I wear a low profile watch with a leather band with a suit or dress shirt, so I am not worried about it clashing. Even if it did, I don't think I would GAF what someone else though anyway.

I mentioned the orange thing not necessary because of what others think (because who gives a crap), but more to make sure you love it long time. If its something youre going to keep for 30+ years, you better love the color.
I'm probably a little more conservative and prefer the Omega's with the more spare orange touches (ie, on hands/numbers instead of the bezel), so it would be a bit much for me. But if you love rocking the orange, it's harder to find a nicer diver than the Seamaster.

Fair enough. Also on the flip side, a different bezel insert and a couple pushers could probably be had for a few hundred dollars down the line if I really grew tired of the orange. But I highly doubt I would. Last time I was in Vegas, I couldn't keep my eyes off the thing when I was in the Omega Boutique. I came so close to just snapping down the plastic. My GF had to drag me out of the store by the arm like I was a 5 year old fixated on a new Transformer.

I've got a Magrette Pacific Moana already and quite enjoy it...thinking about adding another to the collection:

My only complaint is that it is not waterproof. Because its plug is on the inside of it, which is frustrating. There are reviews that it has stopped working while people have washed dishes and I've had more than a few close calls almost forgetting to take it off before I shower.
But on the plus side, it's made me get more active as I am constantly trying to hit what I have set as my daily minimum for steps. It's set up a little bit of a competition between my wife and I as well as my very active mother.

You wear two watches? Do you think you're Justin Bieber?

It's water-resistant.

Relative humidity: Device is splash proof, and should not be submerged more than one meter.

Force is water resistant. It shouldn't be worn while swimming. It is, however, rain, splash, and sweat-proof.

Both the Wife and I wear ours showering and while bathing our son, no issues yet. I wouldn't wear it while swimming though.

Do you still need the phone near by or are these watches getting closer to becoming standalone phones?

Although not my favorite design, I don't think it's ugly. I think the strap looks a lot like the old Rado watches, which I always really loved.

Bracelet is alright but I was lamenting the case. I saw the Samsung smart-watch at Verizon yesterday, and that was an ugly mother.
