Damn. I like Milan, seems like a good guy.
I hope he didn't do anything stupid and/or violent and this isn't what it seems.

Not the first time the police have dealt with him over a domestic dispute. This is from 2011:

Quote:
Stanley Cup hero Milan Lucic was questioned by police early yesterday after he and his girlfriend got into an altercation in the North End.

According to a police report of the incident, the Bruins left winger was “highly intoxicated and hostile” after he and his galpal argued outside a Starbucks on Commercial Street shortly before 1:30 a.m.

Witnesses told police the 6-foot-4, 220-pound hockey player was yelling at his girlfriend, who was on the ground, and at one point threw her shoes and purse at her. However, the woman told police she was not physically assaulted and “was adamant about not being harmed,” the report states. Police “did not observe any visible injuries,” the report says, and Lucic was not charged.
...
As the officer continued to question Lucic, he “slammed his cell phone to the ground and yelled ‘Do you know who I am?” the police report states. At which point, the officer asked for identification and Lucic produced an ID from Vancouver, Canada.

Reading between the lines, this has the hallmarks of being a really bad Milan Lucic episode he may have had at home vs his wife while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Serious enough that his wife may have been badly injured and is pressing charges. A lot of couples will have arguments or disagreements where things get heated, things get thrown etc. This doesn't appear to be the case. This appears more serious.

Or the person who was potentially victimized is NOT his wife and this is going to get uglier, much quicker for him.

I am not making any kind of judgement or coming to any conclusions until the whole story comes out.

Same, "domestic dispute" could mean a lot of things (of course it sounds bad though).

Big fan of the player but the NHL needs to take these incidents far more serious. Reality is that being arrested for domestic violence means you were violent towards a spouse or other in your home. The victim in these situation typically is “coached” to say it was a misunderstanding and charges are dropped. Then rinse and repeat.

"There’s times in a relationship when things get a little louder than they should and one thing leads to another,” Daskalakis said, “but I know there’s no way Milan would raise a hand to her. He loves her. The situation sounds a lot worse than it was.”
That quote is from his marketing rep. To me, the situation sounds like a guy got messy drunk in public and became verbally abusive to his partner (and physically too if he indeed threw stuff at her). Also, how bad is that PR?

Yeah, after hearing about him hammered yelling at someone on a golf course and needing his teammates to calm him down for allegedly having his picture taken (which it wasn't, the guy in the group behind him was just checking their phone), I've always wondered about the guy.

Well if we can’t trust his marketing rep to tell the truth who can we trust? The police who arrested him?
