This one looks like they've dialed in on their brand of humour.
At the end of the day I think Season 1 was a throwaway, likely under contractual and legal constraints by the BBC and again, most shows need a few episodes or a season to find their groove, these three are a known quanitity and will improve to the mean.
As for loving/hating Clarkson, look, Hammond and May probably know him better than anyone else...in the world, and they stick with him. So maybe its a schtick or maybe hes a genuine jerkface, but these three wouldnt have stuck together if there werent redeeming qualities.

Like you say with may and Hammond coming with him, leaving cushy BBC jobs to do it, says a lot. A lot of the backroom staff and production did as well.
He doesn't have a filter and he seems to have a temper, but in general he seems a decent bloke
Excited for the new season less scripted like hhh mentioned would be great
Season 1 was fun and was always going to have a few things to workout

Soooo, 4 sleeps until Season 2!! This and Brooklyn Nine-Nine are all we watch around here, so I’m pretty excited. Do I need to buy amazon prime to be able to view this weekly (and legally because I’m too lazy to fuss around with illegal methods)?

No doy!
That's a Hitchcock reference

FYI this is on Prime now, and it is resplendent. Much better than season 1.
When did it come on?! I thought it was Dec 8!! Hmm now I have the tough decision of watching it NOW, or being a nice person and waiting to watch with my husband tomorrow.

It's December 8th in the United Kingdom.
Yup it's better.

Two thumbs up from me. Hammond’s crash was quite scary. I wonder what the heck happened, he was already past the finish line at that point.
I noticed they didn’t have the American but they also didn’t have a racing driver at all. Presumably they’ll be rolling out the new driver next episode.

I dont know what happened to Hammond, honestly, that car looked insanely fast.
