Well fellas, so far, this has been a mild success, but I know on a Sunday afternoon at 4:14, more than a couple of guys are having a beer.

That Amnesiac was delicious and packed full of in-your-face flavour, so now it's time to switch to something a bit more mild:

Duchy Originals' Old Ruby Ale 1905

So far, a little bit thin feeling, which, after such a robust beer, is pleasing to my mouth.

All in all, not a bad beer, but I probably wouldn't buy again.

Next up tonight, Plan B Brewing's Idiot Rock Idia Pale Ale
SO rare I can't even find a picture of it.

I'm not going to look very hard for one either. Pretty standard non-hoppy IPA. High Alcohol content like a home brew, roughly the same taste.

Great evening at home watching sports beer.

I've been trying a few ginger beers that have been popping up. I liked the Philips ginger beer a fair amount...many of them are too sweet, but this one is more beery with a bunch of ginger that makes it almost a bit spicy.

Try it out!

A good friend of mine here in Shanghai has his own small Belgian beer bar. He's got over a hundred different kinds of excellent beers in his place at any time, so I tend to drink more good beer than I really deserve.

Here are the beers my wife and I are enjoying as I type this.

Liefmans, Cuvee-brut
Delicious cherry beer

Delirium, Tremens

Also, for fun we recently started a beer channel where we talk about different beer topics in Chinese (easy for him since he is Chinese!) and really soon we will be starting up a YouTube channel where we will do simple shows in English pairing great beers with Chinese street food.

Here's a link to one of our recent videos, since I don't know how to embed the player from this Chinese site on CP.

Recently tried Innis and Gunn's Irish Whiskey Cask. It's a Scottish stout. Very tasty.

I just tried Innis and Gunn for the first time at Catch Oyster Bar, not sure if it was the Irish Whiskey one though. I thought it was amazing, had no idea I could get a flavour like that in a beer.

This is by far one of my favorite threads, lets not let it die again! I've been poor at contributing to it mostly due to also being poor in real life...I'll work on that!

I'm a big fan of Alley Kat. I think they are the best brewer in AB. Just tried their doppelbock and it was decent. I am biased towards heavy dark ales though.

Just had this on the weekend. Very delicious. Better than Aprikat I think. Most fruity beers are only good for a dessert beer, such as fruili. I found this one very drinkable.

I find Aprikat way too fruity. I think that when the other flavors start overpowering the beer then it shouldn't be called beer. Decent afternoon patio "drink" with lunch / dinner though.

I may have to try that recommendation.. lovin the BC breweries these days!

I don't know man, beer has so many different types already I just kind of put the fruity tasting beers into their own category.

I love lambics as well and they are verrry different when compared to any other type of beer. Embrace the variety!

On that note, if you haven't tried a good lambic, go out and do so! They are quite unlike any other beer...they don't even taste like beer really.

Try out any of the Cantillon brand, or try out Duchesse De Bourgogne which isn't a lambic but tastes very similar in my opinion...and is amazing.

Pic is big, sorry.
Spoiler!

I've bought it out here (Vancouver) before, and ya, drank some of it in Croatia.

That Yukon Gold mentioned above is also a solid beer.
