Well, I know what it means I just hate it!
Someone used that phrase with when I experienced intense sorrow and regret after selling my house... long story but it had been stained after a series of other things. A developer was pressuring me to sell; need I say more?
Maybe the arson and harrassment wasn't enough duress?
I guess I just can't imagine saying to someone in any situation. Just sounds really mean.
