Keith Raniere arrested
Head of the sex cult NXIVM/DOS that blackmailed woman into sex and branded them in torture ceremonies was arrested in Mexico.
Member of the Cult include Allison Mack from Smallville who's one of the drivers of DOS (Which was the inner circle) and Nikki Clyne from BattleStar Galactica.

It's pretty well documented that she's involved with Raniere. She calls him her mentor and posted a youtube series called Keith Raniere Conservations.

It seemed weird. The NYT article didn’t mention either of those actresses. Just some like Hollywood Gossip or New York Post mentioned them. I thought it was weird, plus it wasn’t being mentioned by anybody else. I know they are not a-list actresses, but would have expected more mainstream coverage of it there was something to report.

sounds like Allison Mack and Claire Bronfman are going to be arrested and sent back to the States as well. Mack is considered one of the founders and Clair Bronfman financed the cult.

This is a pretty good breakdown on the organization, though it lightly touches on the sexual aspect of it.
Basically the Bronfman sisters pissed away $100 million on this guy.

I haven’t seen that, even on the NYT piece about the guy.
I remember it being in the Metoo thread, and the story sounded kind of off there too. Anyway, I am not white knighting or anything, it’s just this story just is so bizarre and it hasn’t fallen on any other entertainment sources like ET or Variety or even TMZ.

I remember reading about this cult not that long ago, as actress Catherine Oxenberg's daughter India is/was involved in it. She's apparently been trying to extract her from it but not having a lot of luck, even had her mother, Princess Elizabeth of Yugoslavia fly over to try and help. Maybe now that the upper echelon of the cult has been arrested, they might have more luck.

Just reading about this group creeps me out.
Whereas most cults are preaching to the willing for whatever reason, they're lost, hopeless, need a cause to believe in.
This one ensnares, blackmails, and abuses except for the top members who willingly aid this process.

Mack was released on $5 million bail, and had to wear an ankle bracelet and avoid contact with other cult members, don't know if that includes her wife Nicki Clyne. Mack's parents had to put up their houses, retirement funds and everything and Mack has to stay with her parents.
If she's found guilty she faces 15 to life.
