What do you expect for rental players in a capped out market?

Not surprising that we've been getting demolished by elite teams. Hopefully this will be a quick rebuild/retool, and they'll eventually be a playoff team over the next 3 years.

Hertl, that was the one where San Jose got a former 32 overall pick and a first round pick next year for two picks in the top 65 in the draft and one salary retention spot where they eat almost 1.4 million for the next 6 years.
That is the package that is better than an unprotected first and a 3rd that can turn into a second and a prospect with the Flames having to give no draft picks back the other way or retain salary after this year? That is the trade you think is better?

Those losses are a result of trading our top 2 dmen. Thusnisnt going to kevel out, we are going to plummet down the standings and are likely going to be somewhere near the bottom 5 next season.
Its whats needed, just dont get your hopes up

3 teams that are in cup conversations. I would not be shocked to see an Avs-Canes final.

That should be a penalty even if after the whistle.
I wasn’t even sure about the offside.

Honestly, though getting blown out is never fun to watch.... losing is kind of what we want to be doing in order to help better our "re-bui....re-tool" guys so I don't see any sense getting upset about the loss.
We all wanted to re-build when Johnny walked and Tkachuk left, Conny finally gave it to us so lets embrace it.

Yes. Edstrom has looked great and likely would be a higher draft pick id the draft was done again.
Hertl got 2 first round picks. Hanifin did not.
Who cares about a bottom team retaining a paltry 1.5 million.

In my opinion they are doing it because they are trying to find a couple franchise players to build around. Hawk got one. And now Shark trying hard this year. When they find their guys, it will be easier to add Hanifins, Tanevs, Lindholms by trading or signing them from the market.
