Really weird seeing this much media love for the Bombers, I'm not used to it. This streak has gone on way too long. Grey Cup is in Calgary.... seems like the stars are aligning. Something makes me nervous about the West though. Edmonton has the best all around QB in the league, BC has Reilly, BLM is defending champion... just seems like the west will be a total meat grinder. I hope Saskatchewan finishes with 4 wins, all from the East.

I think part of the media love for the Bombers is that they just want somebody else to take the mantle from the Stamps regardless of whether or not it's deserved. Still tough to see the Bombers going all the way with Matt Nichols under centre.

Media were all over them last season predicting they would beat the Stamps in the WF so really it's just carryover. Fans and media across the league have got sick of the Stampeders dominance so I get why some are eager to write them off as it's based on hope more than logical reasoning.

I am not sure why you keep pumping the tires of Harris as he's got below average arm strength, is not athletic so not a scrambler, .500 record as starter with zero Grey Cups as starter, so I fail to see what exactly "best all around" as you describe him means exactly. I personally think Nichols is more of a gamer than Harris as he's got a better winning percentage and doesn't suck every single time he faces adversity.

Harris is a good game manager in the right offense with lots of talent around him. But he's not dynamic and he has poor escapability and his ability to stretch plays and make things happen are questionable.

Mike Reilly is very dynamic, he can use his legs well and extend plays and is very good at breaking the pocket and breaking down defenses with his legs.

Bo isn't super slippery, but he's the best pure manager and pocket adjuster in this league. He has the highest football IQ out of the other QB's in the league, he's very accurate, and he makes good decisions, and he avoids the rush by getting the ball out very quickly.

Haha, that one got me too. For a second I thought the Esks managed to pluck a guy from the NFL that was tired of being a backup or something. I'd put Harris at 4th, a fair distance behind Masoli, who is a fair distance behind Bo and Reilly.

Riders TiCats kickoff has been moved up to 7pm eastern to minimize overlap with Raptors game. Originally was 730pm.

Another CFL season starts today and here's hoping this season ends just like the 2018 season.

I feel like this season has snuck up on me, good luck to all and hopefully it’s a great season of high quality football!

The Stamps are the team to be in my book until proven otherwise. BC and Winnipeg will have strong years. Edmonton probably crosses over and i think the Riders are a 5-7 win team this year. They won’t get the same level of scoring from ST and D that they got last year and while I think their offence will be a little better, it won’t be anywhere close to good enough in a strong West.

Not even 90 seconds into the first CFL game of the season and Collaros take a dirty head shot from Simoni Lawrence. Grade 2 foul which means 25 yard penalty.

So that’s why he’s not playing, I missed the beginning. My goodness

Honestly, he targeted the head of a QB who already surrendered. Forget grade 2, I think that could have been an outright disqualification.

Agreed...looked entirely intentional.

But after what Hebert did to Cornish a few years back, without ejection, not sure there is anything you can do to get tossed short of punching an official in the face.

God if Hamilton is the clear frontrunner of the east then this is truly sad. They look just terrible.

I now remember how much I dislike the McAdoo offence. At least Powell is a huge upgrade at RB

TSN panel is not holding back on Lawrence, I don’t think I’ve ever seen Burris so upset

Yikes, Rider's have to bring in Jamie Foxx or whoever their 3rd QB is.

It was intent to injure. Lawrence knew what he was doing and targeted the head of Collaros. There's just no way to sugarcoat that one as if I was giving out suspensions he would get 8 games. The reality is that he probably gets one game considering how soft the league has been on dirty players and how little they care about players safety. I will be disappointed to see less than four games but I totally expect to be disappointed here.

Lawrence on Collaros hit: I love Zach to death, it wasn't intentional, I'm super sorry
