Crazy that they could get $4b for a business earning $250mm a year. That's a great multiple for the guys selling.
I would think that selling is probably smart though. I love UFC and MMA in general, but I wonder about the long term viability of the sport with the growing focus on head injuries and the like.
On Tuesday, Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports cited UFC President Dana White in reporting that Silva will not fight Uriah Hall because of abdominal pain that may necessitate gall bladder surgery. Silva underwent surgery Wednesday, per Guilherme Cruz of MMA Fighting, who noted the fighter will be cleared from the hospital Friday.
UFC medical consultant Jeff Davidson commented on the setback, per Iole: "Anderson developed abdominal discomfort [Monday, and] further evaluation today is consistent with acute cholecystitis. He will be seen by a surgeon [Tuesday] for possible surgery."
That's too bad, was looking forward to his fight with Uriah Hall.
I wish I was a betting man because watching Werdum making faces at the camera and all that leading up to the fight made me think he wasn't ready. Miocic came in and was all business though and looked relaxed and focused. I just think that Werdum got caught up in everything and I'm not sure that the rematch will go the same way.
I love the way the crowd is going wild, he drops him and then its basically dead silence. Even the commentators just stopped talking.

I think Werdum forgot for second that Miocic was a former gold glove boxing champion... he chased Miocic with his arms flailing out then got punished for it.
Personally, I'm loving the carousel of title holders.
Sure he'd get humiliated in a boxing match if he actually tried his hardest, but if I were him I'd take a dive in the first round and walk out with the $50 million.

Floyd Mayweather has a $50 MILLION offer out to Conor McGregor, sources tell TMZ Sports ... but it's going to take a lot more to seal the deal.
We're told Floyd is proposing a New Year's Eve fight in Vegas and Conor is game. We're told Floyd's $50 million offer is far less than half the amount the fight would rake in ... and therein lies the rub.
Floyd has been talking to the wrong guy, because Conor can't ink the deal. It's all about convincing Dana White, and there's just no way White would accept such a lopsided deal. Fact is ... in 3 critical Pay-Per-View markets -- Europe, Australia and Canada -- Conor is a bigger star than Floyd.
UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic will make his first title defense against Alistair Overeem, but he'll do it in the main event of UFC 203 in Cleveland, Ohio. The news was announced by the promotion on Wednesday.
Miocic seized heavyweight gold from Fabricio Werdum earlier this month at UFC 198 by knocking out the Brazilian in the first round on their main event contest. The Cleveland native is currently on a three-fight wining streak that includes victories over Mark Hunt, Andrei Arlovski and Werdum. Miocic's last loss came to Junior dos Santos via decision back in December 2014 at UFC on Fox 13.
Meanwhile, Overeem is coming off an impressive technical knockout victory over Arlovski at UFC Fight Night 87 earlier this month, and currently finds himself in a four-fight wining streak. He's also ranked number three in the UFC heavyweight rankings.
