Kyvat was a bigger headcase than Max. Completely reckless and caused multiple accidents, except he has half the talent of Max.

He completely lost it when they bumped him from Red Bull down to Toro Rosso and was out of F1 by seasons end.

That podium he got last week was a complete fluke. Albon has outdriven him for most of the year.

I liked Max at first, then I hated him for a while - especially when he almost killed Kimi at Spa - now I like him again. He’s aggressive without being reckless and it’s been paying off. He’s fun to watch. But I still think his dad is a dbag.

You are guys are missing the biggest dbag in F1. It's Hamilton by far! The only reason why he doesn't freakout lately is that he has ZERO competition the past few years. The year that Rosberg beat him, he was the biggest whiner and pouter in the world.

Too bad Rosberg retired. Bottas is no where near his level. I want Max to goto Mercedes just to watch Hamilton lose his crap next year.

If you watch Red Bull's videos on YouTube you really see his personality show. It's pretty much the exact opposite of him on the track

I will admit that I didn't like Max at first. When he first broke into F1, I thought he was a bit cocky, reckless, and sometimes down right dangerous.

However, he has definitely grown on me this season, his seems to be more mature as a driver, and no where near as dangerous as he used to be.

Guess Red Bull still thinks Kyvat is a dud.

This move shouldn't really shock anyone. It's typical RBR. But Albon has driven very well this year and is as cool as a cucumber. Gasly looked just lost at RBR and the pressure got to him. I really like Albon and hope he maintains the same composure he had at TR. I also think he will be a better fit with Max as he is the clear #1.

And this is why I can never be a fan of Hamilton. Ever since I met Rosberg many many years back at the Bahrain GP, he always had my support. The year he retired, I just pretty much stopped watching F1.

I still follow it here and there, but I can't stand Hamilton's personality, and him winning every year, just doesn't do it for me as a fan.

Wasn't Max the clear number one with Gasly as well?

edit: Or did you mean Albon wasn't the clear number one with Kvyat?

Yeah I wasn't clear. I think Gasly went in thinking he was alot closer to Max in terms of pace. Then he started to push way too hard, made a lot of mistakes and basically got way to stressed out and cracked. I think Albons personality will let him be a very clear #2 and maintain his focus and keep his pace up. I'd be shocked if Albon gets lapped or is 1s behind on qualifying. He will need a few races to learn the car obviously.

Are you sure? IIRC, Max did pretty good his first time our in the RBR.

I still can't believe how much better Honda is this year. Makes me wonder if McLaren got it right.

Nope, not sure at all. Moving from a TR to RBR is probably the easiest. I think they share rear ends, engines, etc. So it should be quicker than say Ricciardo to Renault. But nonetheless it will take time.

Some silly season rumours...
- Ocon to drive for Renault...Hulkenberg is out. Leaves Russel as top Jr. Merc driver.
- Bottas to stay at Merc
- Hulkenberg to Haas with Magnussen...that's a tough pairing I think. Leaves GrosJean -without a ride for 2020.

Hulk I think already has the record for most races without a podium. He may not get one in his career at this pace. Can’t decide if he’s got the chops to compete at a top team.

What's it referring to specifically in F1? Just this break? I'm assuming it's standard for teams to make crazy decisions with the time off?
