She certainly had both it and the Bobbie Rosenfeld Awards locked up when she won the Canadian Open, but yeah. There's not a Canadian athlete in any sport that can equal Bianca's achievements this year.

I like days on CP when I run out of thanks, it usually means something awesome has occurred.

Amazing! I couldn’t find a reliable stream online so I was just riding the emotional wave of the posters here narrating the action! What a fantastic moment for Canada and Canadian tennis. Serena is a living legend so it’s truly an incredible moment.

Awesome for her, what a 2019 for her and a legit win today over the best player of this era.
As far as Canadian sports moments, for me, it is similar to when Mike Weir won the Masters 16 years back. It takes a lot of work, determination, circumstance and luck, and should be enjoyed in the moment for that.

There was close to 30 of us in High River BP. They were complaining on the bar side that we were making too much noise. In a good way of course. There would be people coming to the restaurant side to see what all the noise was about. The other side was watching the Riders and the Bombers.

There's a reasonable debate to be had there. Graf had tougher opponents in her day. The WTA has been hot garbage for most of the last decade. She's been beating up on that garbage. So you could make the argument.
The counterargument is of course that Graf would have won fewer if not for a certain stabbing.

Very true, but Steffi also stepped away from the game when she probably could have played at least 4 or 5 more years and added to her grand slam total.

No clue what thread to post this in but what a great "other sports" day. Due to weird stuff going on in my life there's been no wife and or dogs at my house for the first time on 9 years or so.
As a very rare poster but obsessive reader this has been a great journey to follow today!
Also just want to add...my wife hasn't left me and my dogs haven't died or anything like that. Just a weird mix of life going on right now but all is good!
