I really liked the OS movies except for V which was really bad.
But Wrath of Khan, SFS and VH was a near perfect trilogy of Trek. VI was awesome with the concept of the crew aging and reaching the end. I loved Scotty grumbling that he just bought a boat.
While there were some bright moments in the Generation movies they just really don't compare.
The real strength of the OS series was that they just had really strong villains.
Khan was iconic, who knew that Mr Roarke could play a man consumed by grief vengeance and ego. In the search for Spock Christopher Lloyd was a surprise but a great scenery chewing villain. In UC how could you go wrong with Chritopher Plummer chewing scenery as a Shakespeare quoting enemy.

Is how I rank the ST movies. The rest dont really matter lol.
I respect your list, I don't know if I have First Contact as an instant classic though. It was the start of the Picard and Data show.
I do put voyage home as a smart classic especially where they injected a ton of humanity into Spock and the McCoy Spock back and forth was at its high point.
But the best line in all of the Trek movies, the Checkov deadpan "Guess who's coming for Dinner"

1. Wrath of Khan
2. Undiscovered Country
3. The Motion Picture
- The Wrath of Khan, The Search for Spock, and Voyage Home would have formed the perfect trilogy except the recasting of Saavik ruins it for me totally. The new actress had nothing on Kirstie Alley and recasting ruins film continuity for me (similar reason why I don't enjoy the Nolan Batman film trilogy because of the Rachel re-casting even though her character was meh). I just can't watch re-casted characters.
- TNG movies don't count for me, I liked them in elementary school but dislike them all as an adult.
I'm going to assume the only reason for FC to be ranked #2 is this
Definitely not hurting it's ranking. That scene and the one where Geordie is telling cochrane about his statue, and broccoli is nerding out all over him.
But really it's all nostalgia based. This movie came out when I was like 12, Star Trek TNG was my Dad and I's thing together. The entire opening part of the movie for me is total gold... Picard listening to opera, haunted by memories of the borg, sent to patrol the neutral zone in a beautiful new ship, but seemingly bored as hell. Then, disregard direct orders, warp into epic battle with new ships (and amazing cameo from the defiant) with Giant borg cube.
Yeah, I was blown away. Still am. Good part of the rest of the movie is a sleeper lol. But I think it still has memorable elements.
The humor in the Voyage Home is great, I would put it 4th. But it, like Insurrection, seemed more like an extra long star trek episode than an epic movie for me.
"hello? Computer?" is something I still do when I sit down in front of a computer with my Dad. He always laughs. Nuclear Wessles... lol yes we quote this one often. Favourite moment is spock on the bus.

I still have a lot of nostelgia for TMP. I thought it was such a smart premise, and it was nice to see the cast back together. Yeah it was pastel colored, and some of the dialogue work was stiff. But still. I love the idea of Voyager evolving and coming home to find its creator so it can learn.
I still love the last line from the movie to. The OS series moments had such great endings.

There is a Star Trek reference for just about everything, and most of them are gold. Gold, Jerry Gold (Smith).

Let me tell you something about Hew-mons, Nephew. They're a wonderful, friendly people, as long as their bellies are full and their holosuites are working. But take away their creature comforts, deprive them of food, sleep, sonic showers, put their lives in jeopardy over an extended period of time and those same friendly, intelligent, wonderful people... will become as nasty and as violent as the most bloodthirsty Klingon. You don't believe me? Look at those faces. Look in their eyes.

Displeased beyond words that this is not available in Canada, and only the States. I blame this on Abrams and Kurtzman blowing up Vulcan, Alberta. No respect.
Yes, that is Kardassian Kanar, and Klingon Blood Wine.

That's a Cardassian design (I know this because of the accessories that came with the TNG Playmates toys) on the tag so it's Kanar and not whatever Guinan had behind her counter.
Also, where's the blue Romulan Ale? Still illegal in our jurisdiction?

The music from TOS was practically a character in the show. I still break out the Ponn Far fight music if there is a disagreement between myself and a friend if it doesn't look like anything will be resolved without ritual combat.
Ah, the Decapodian national anthem, from Futurama.
