Nadal's box is telling him to retire but he plays on down a break in the 3rd set. If he has to lose I'd rather he lose to Fritz than Krygios

Yeah, the pills have worn off and the movement and serve speed are suffering as a result.

Kyrgios wins in straight sets.

Rafa breaks and is serving to force a 5th and deciding set.

I don't care if Rafa's foot and rib fall off completely, he's the only thing left to hold back the darkest timeline (of which there are two scenarios). keep vamosing until all evil is banished from centre court...

You're not confident in Norrie?

I don't know how you can't be rooting for a Djokovic-Kyrgios final, every other possibility is a boring 2, 2, and 1 match. Djokovic-Kyrgios would be captivating insanity, plus its by far the best actual matchup.

Fan dynamic would be interesting. Would they cheer for Kyrgios over the 6 time champ?

Absolutely it'd be so interesting. They'd probably start out rooting for Kyrgios, then he'll go full Nick and then who knows. Or maybe the crowd would go reverse psychology and cheer for Novak, who is so used to being hated that he'd play out of sorts with the crowd backing him.

Nadal wins. Doesn't play the semis. Kyrgios goes to the final fresh. Djok plays a 5 setter against Norrie. Goes to the final tired. Kyrgios blasts aces in the final and wins Wimbledon.

Can't see Nadal not playing. Even with no ribs, he knows Krygios can self distruct.

With Djokovic up first I imagine the decision would be who wins. If it's Norrie then obviously Nadal plays Kyrgios, but I can't see him wanting to make a final and take a humiliating defeat from Novak. Bad for the brand and all.

Does Nick hit Rafa with a body shot to test the ribs?

Edit: Might have spoken too soon.

imagine thinking that Rafa would be too scared to play in a final where he's not the favorite, against an opponent he's only beaten 29 times before.

Been a while outside clay, and that was a fully healthy Nadal. 40% of Nadal gets killed by Novak, especially a Novak who will be hated maybe more than ever in that final. He will use the crowd to pummel Nadal with something like 6-2, 6-0, 6-1.

And for the record the 5th set superbreaker at 6-6 is one of the all-time worst decisions in the sport. 12-12, fine, but this is horrific.

I guess the question now is we will see Rafa play Nick in the semis? I for one hope so.

What an effort from Nadal, the greatest fighter sports has ever seen. Who knows what happens on Friday but for today he won so it's a good day
