Their players do very little in the NHL, they are not nearly the top players when they do get selected for Team Canada.

I think it is a case that the Q teams load up their good teams while the other leagues with much more talent have that talent spread around.

In a way it's too bad the trade deadline is so early...otherwise a team like Regina could have traded Bedard. But they opted to keep the cash cow and sell out a few more games despite having a poor team around him. Now the Pats will be irrelevant for like the next 50 years and have nothing to show for the time they had Bedard.

I contend that Regina should have traded Bedard anyway. Imagine the haul from Winnipeg or Seattle. He would have put Seattle over the top.

Bedard wanted to stay in Regina, that's why he wasn't traded.

Not sure where to put this. Massive WHL News this morning. The Winnipeg ICE are moving to Wenatchee, Washington.

Wow.

I guess the US division will have an extra team, and swift will.probably go back to the east leaving BC and central with one less team and the conferences will finally.be even.

Well, I guess they lasted longer in Winnipeg than they did in Edmonton.

Cranbrook is much the same as it was when I left there 35 years ago. That place can't support a WHL team year in and year out. City is too small and it will never really grow.

At least Wenatchee has a nice facility and some nearby local rivals. Even it's a bit small though. But Spokane/Everett/Seattle/Tri Cities are all as close to Wenatchee as Cranbrook was to Lethbridge. Similar with Winnipeg as after Brandon everywhere is is a long haul.
