Heard about Hossa's allergic rash to equipment last season. Source said it could end his career, but I didn't believe it. Starting to now.

He could put up with the allergy when he was making $4 million, but now that his salary drops to $1 million, suddenly its unbearable.
I can't wait to see Luongo be forced into retirement early due to Italian Hand Talking Syndrome.

This beats out Dustin Penner for the funniest/most ridiculous "injury" I've ever heard of.

It's too ridiculous not to be true right? They would have to know that this would be ridiculed and scrutinized till no tomorrow?
He probably does get an uncomfortable rash wearing hockey, but how convenient is it that it comes to this when his salary drops to $1 million per year?
Uncomfortable does not mean career-ending, particularly when you consider how big the cap penalties should be for the Hawks if Hossa were to actually retire. There are many other ways to avoid a rash when playing hockey (different materials, under armor, etc.)
I wonder if players will start declaring career-ending injuries because of old age.

Well that's what I mean. It's ridiculous, they have to know a NHL doctor will check it out. Wasn't Pronger checked out independently?
