Calgary's Agreement With Adirondack:

Do the Flames have a player limit with the Thunder?

Five of the following players have two way contracts with Calgary and all seven will have suited up for Adirondack this season.

Brett Pollock
Tim Harrison (no contract)
Keegan Kanzig
Ryan Culkin
Stepan Falkovsky (no contract)
Mason McDonald
Tom McCollum

The Flames own Adirondack (at least until this summer) and could technically put as many of their prospects on that team as they want with the following caveats:

1. If a player is on a non-ELC NHL deal, they need to give their permission to be assigned to the ECHL.
2. Some AHL deals could have a no ECHL assignment clause.
3. The ECHL has a salary cap, which needs to be managed.
4. The ECHL unlike the AHL has roster limits. 18 active player + 2 players on reserve + unlimited injured reserve
5. The Flames have an agreement with the Devils to take some of their players in Adirondack

Calgary's Agreement With Adirondack:

Thanks for the info. I seem to remember something about the Flames having a 5 player limit with the Las Vegas Wranglers. Interesting, with Calgary's cupboards so fully stocked, I was wondering if there wouldn't be enough room for them all.

So theoretically, and abiding with the 50 contract limit, the Flames could have 23 in the NHL, with up to 27 two-way contracts in the minors.

Say, these 19 players in the AHL (leaving enough room for mandatory AHL veteran players)

Mark Jankowski
Morgan Klimchuk
Andrew Mangiapane
Hunter Shinkaruk
Daniel Pribyl
Linden Vey
Garnet Hathaway
Hunter Smith
Austin Carroll

Brett Kulak
Tyler Wotherspoon
Rasmus Andersson
Oliver Kylington
Brandon Hickey
Adam Fox

Jon Gillies
Tyler Parsons
David Rittich (loaned out)
Tom McCollum (loaned out)

And Calgary's remaining 16 prospects on the Adirondack Thunder (7 already are signed to two-way contracts)

Emile Poirier
Brett Pollock
Tim Harrison
Pavel Karnaukhov
Linus Lindstrom
Mitchell Mattson
Eetu Tuulola

Kenney Morrison
Ryan Culkin
Keegan Kanzig
Stepan Falkovsky
Adam Ollas-Mattsson
Riley Bruce
Rushan Rafikov

Mason McDonald
Nick Schneider

^ Yeah but with the pending sale of Adirondack, the Flames may be back to only having a few ECHL spots next season, depending on who they get as their affiliate.

Haha, that'd be just like Harrison to get in a scrap first chance he gets.

Tim Harrison gets an assist on a PP goal that makes it 4-0 Thunder.

First pro point in his 3rd pro game.

Highlights of the most recent game:

Falkovsky and Harrison both fought, and the highlight quality makes me really wonder what exactly AHL live subscribers are paying for.

On Falkovsky, he's been ice cold since his point streak ended, with only a goal and 2 assists in his last 10 games. However, he still leads the ECHL in goals by defensemen by a large margin.

According to the ECHL transaction page Tim Harrison was released from his ATO and is no longer on the Adirondack roster. Sounded like he was doing ok. Anybody know more about this?.

Unfortunately the beat writers for Adirondack are brain dead, they reported the release but didn't seem to think to ask why he was released or even investigate.

If I had to guess he was only in Adirondack for that weekend and then went back to school to finish his degree as planned. FWIW the day he was released, the Flames website released an article about him.

No updates here since the playoffs started...

The Thunder won their Division in the regular season and are facing Manchester in the first round of the playoffs. The Thunder have home ice, but in an odd piece of scheduling, started the series on the road. The first two games of the series were held in Manchester (with the Monarchs winning both games). The final five (if necessary) games are all scheduled for Adirondack.

Tonight was game five. The Thunder won 2-1 and now trail the series 3-2. Game six will be Tuesday night in Glens Falls. The Thunder must win to force game seven on Wednesday night.

Brett Pollock has 4 points in 5 games and leads the Thunder in playoff scoring. Falkovsky has 2 points in 3 games, but is also a -3. Culkin has 1A and is a +1 through 5 games. Kanzig also has 1A and is a +2. He also has 21 PIM through 5 games.

McDonald was recently sent back down to Adirondack but hasn't played yet in the playoffs.

Manchester Monarchs score 2:57 into OT in Game 6. Manchester takes the series 4 games to 2.

Season over for the Thunder.
