Gaining the lead and the momentum at the start of the campaign is well and good, but now they have to stand up to a lot more scrutiny from both parties.

Heard an ad on the radio yesterday and couldn’t tell who it was for at first. Talking about how there were no good candidates, bashed Wynne, then Ford “no good candidates... I know... Andrea Horwath”. Even the parties know there are no good candidates.

This plant has been on the chopping block for years due to its age and mechanical issues. It is currently scheduled to expire in 2024 and that was only by extension or it would be closed by now.

The Conservatives are already showing how much more efficient they are than the Liberals. The OLP took years in government to become corrupt - the PCs are already there, and the election isn't even over!

is there specific examples you'd like to refer us to? or is it just general hatred of the Ontario PC party.

And here comes the NDP!!
- Wynne says she can do better - I have yet to meet anyone who says she can do worse.
- Ford caught on deep throat recording selling PC memberships to little old ladies and paying for them out of his own pocket to get former aide nominated.
What exactly did we do to get the government we are going to deserve??

That Ford tidbit isn't the half of it. The candidate they pushed out in favour of Kinga Surma is accusing Ford of following her home and intimidating her in order to get her to drop out of the race. Furthermore, there's plenty of talk that Surma and Ford have been, ahem, "running mates" for a while now.

Clearly I stopped reading (or caring) before getting to the good part.
Why am I not shocked or surprised?

What a disaster if you're the conservatives. Total implosion. And completely avoidable if they hadn't picked a freaking Ford as the leader.

I was wondering what creative way the conservatives would fumble this one on the goal line. They never fail to disappoint.
They literally had to do one thing to win this thing - elect someone that isn't Doug Ford.
Almost ironic that the conservative party's decision is doing more to get the NDP elected than Andrea Horvath ever could.

Ford has dismissed the millennials as a non-factor since they don't come out to vote. So he's going for boomers only.
So if you're the NDP. Go on social media!

Yeah, damn the NDP for causing the economic recession that affected most of the Western world! Good thing we had Mike Harris to come in and save the day by slashing and burning our social safety net.

Sane people: Ontario, you're already a fiscal basket case with twice the debt load of California.
Ontario: Hold my beer.

They didn't cause the economic recession (duh) but they did spend far beyond their ability to pay. It's almost as though they thought they could promise anything because they wouldn't win, and then actually had to follow through with those promises when they surprisingly won.
Mike Harris and the PCs coming in afterwards was definitely a case of the pendulum swinging way too far the other way. Spending needed to be reigned in, but to slash the social safety net and basically leave a huge deficit in terms of infrastructure expenditures was not the solution.
Neither of these were 'good' for Ontario.

Ford wants to stay quiet in this debate.
Wynne and Horvath pulling each other down.

Ya the Pickering Nuclear Plant is my favourite new dumb conservative talking point. It's totally unsafe to keep a nuclear plant open as long as the lying conservatives would claim they want it to, and, decommissioning the thing creates a tonne of jobs for a decade or so. Plus, you know, no Chernobyl.

You could refurbish Pickering though at a lower cost than building a new Nuclear Power Plant or renewables. Shuttering it does not make sense.
Also Chernobyl had nothing to do with it being an old plant they intentionally took safety features offline to do tests.
