I think it is an excellent deal for the Flames, but your post presumes that Bennett's camp must thus be frustrated or disappointed. This is the problem I have with your post: without knowing the figure from which Bennett's agent was negotiating you have no idea how they might feel about the contract he signed.

^ Yes Bennett did not get bent over here. He is getting paid $2 million each of next 2 years to prove he is much better than a 26 point player. Flames had all the leverage in a short term deal.

I get that it's a what-have-you-done-lately world and NHL but as a 19 year old; only a year before Bennett was four points shy of 40 and 2 goals short of 20. He's proven he's more then a 26 point player he just struggled last year offensively and had a huge increase in role on the team.

He was on Edmonton radio this morning and briefly talked about the Bennett situation. Gave some lame excuse of why he was so wrong. Also mentioned how the Switzerland thing was just Bennett going there to train and not a threat to go overseas to play. Don't have the tweet in front of me, but reading it a few days ago that's certainly not how I remember reading it. Either way probably something he should have clearly stated.

Going all the way to Switzerland just to train? Does he realize how stupid that sounds.

Again a lot of assumptions. We don't know that the Flames are negotiating with Jagr. And Treliving certainly may not be promising linemates, that's the coaches decision. Jagr may have to accept a 2nd or 3rd line role at age 45. There's not many teams lining up to give him 1st line guaranteed minutes it would appear.

The world is so simple for you isn't it?

Why hasn't he signed with the Panthers then? It is pretty clear that guaranteed line-mates are not really in the cards for Jagr.

He could be useful in a Flames uniform for sure, but I personally don't see it in a full-on, #1 line roll. Powerplay time, perhaps some time with Bennett, who knows, but the Flames would sign Jagr to increase the possibilities, not limit those that they are clearly keen on (Bennett).

That guy is Kurt Russel's son. Apparently he actually plays goalie on a team somewhere as well.

Dreger is at the bottom of the food chain. What else does anyone expect at this point?

Hasn't played professionally for a while. But, on the bright side, he's in that one amazing episode of Black Mirror about augmented reality.

Indeed. Our BP60 (beard per 60 minutes) was in serious jeopardy.

Sharks still the league leader in this category, though.

Will look more manly and imposing out there now.

That beard is surprisingly decent and not too pubey for a 21 year old.
