For sure, that is what I am expecting. I'd just be mad if it was the 3rd unless it was a pick swap.

Jarmo dealt Gavrikov for a 1st and a 3rd.

...and has now dealt a 1st(+?) for Provorov?

I don't see an upgrade?

If they can then flip Hart to another team and get good value then it's even better for Philly. LA must not have wanted Hart.

He's Russian but he's play NA hockey since he was 13 or so, and he moved to the US permanently to do so. Though is is supposedly heavy into Russian Orthodox.

3OA still available. So you're saying there's a chance!

Gavrikov might not have wanted to sign an extension.

Gavrikov had no intention of staying in Columbus.

Turning 20 games of Gavrikov into two years (+?) of Provorov at 4.7M would be a great move.

A better move than keeping the picks and cap space for something else though?

The McConnell Family has not shortage of cash, I don't think this is a factor.

Provorov at 30% retained for a late 1st is pretty solid

You've got to create a culture of winning at some point, and it wouldn't hurt for it to start happening while having an hopefully elite young C that they will draft on an ELC these next three years.

I get that...but man, looking at Provorov to be part of that? Eeeesh.

Acquiring players from a losing culture to help establish a winning culture in a losing culture?

Two losings doesn't make one winnings...or something

This strikes me as a deal not dissimilar to Philly acquiring Ristolainen. It just doesn't notably change the fate of the team in my eyes.

NHL teams sick of the Stanley Cup final taking forever too, off-season starts now I guess, lol.

turning UFA Gavrikov into Provorov with 2 more years and salary retention is solid GMing from Jarmo. Especially since you can always still flip him in a year or two and recoup assets before he himself becomes UFA.

30% of Provorov's AAV costs just over $2M. Petersen is set to make $5M.

So what does LA have to pay to clear $3M in cap space for the next two years?

Disappointed that one of the most defence-desperate teams is out as a partner for a potential Hanifin deal.

Wonder if this is the first step in a full-on rebuild for the Flyers. Ellis looks like he’s done, and that defence was already one of the worst in the NHL.
