IMO the series isn't over yet. It's never over until you lose on home ice.

But Florida needs to get back to playing a composed game and picking their spots. They almost seemed too amped up for the moment so far this series and have been running around.

That Adin Hill save in game 1 is such a turning point for me though. Florida goes up 2-1 a minute into the second and it's a different game, they have had big early and late period goals all playoffs.

Feel like that moment was the first time in two rounds where everything hadn't went Florida's way.

If you have road ice, you need to get a split at least. Home ice is a very slight advantage; 52.4% in the regular season. So 72.5% of the time you'd expect to be coming home with at least a split in the case that the teams are evenly matched and games are independent of each other.

History is full of players (great players in some cases) who got one shot at the Cup and lost. Can you imagine what they'd do for a five-day rewind?

I don't think getting kicked out of the game twice would be the plan.

Well they don't have to

Also, the Panthers winning 4 of 5 vs Vegas seems.... unlikely

Vegas is pushing 90% just on going up 2-0 in the finals let alone the 12-4 score so far

The series is definitely not over.

But one team looks like they made it back to the finals and aren’t going to let this opportunity slip from their grasp again.

The other team looks like they spent a week listening to people tell them how good they are.

Vegas is focused.

Florida looks like Tkachuk when he played for us in the playoffs. Unfocused. Or at least focused on the wrong things.

Definitely shows in the end results.

The 2012 Kings and 2019 Blues are the only “Cinderella Teams” I can think of that have actually won the cup

Don't forget it was actually more like 5 and 1/3 games.

Never?
What is Florida loses 4 on the road in 7 games?

The sentence said

never … until

You must have missed the ‘until’ part

His point was... the Panthers could win all 3 at home and still lose the series.

I wanted Vegas to take this. But seeing some people in here gloat is kind of turning me off.

So Vegas has a 90% chance of winning the series now on money puck? For most of the season the Flames percentage of making the playoffs on that site was in the 80's so doesn't mean much.

Let's see who wins the next game.

You can’t score more than 1 goal in OT so it’s not comparable.

I don't say "it's never over" but instead go with "you're never in trouble until you lose on home ice" -- if Florida wins both of their home games then they're in good shape, and Vegas would be in trouble if they lost game 5 at home at that point. But if Florida loses a home game, then they're in trouble (and obviously done if they lose both).

People haven't been gloating about the Panthers winning. We've been cheering for the Panthers to win in three different series threads, while others have been cheering for them to lose (either because they're mad about Tkachuk leaving, or because they've bet on Boston/Toronto/Carolina etc).

The gloating happening now is the "see? we were right! Florida does suck!" posts. Yeah man, we get it, you said they'd lose to Boston, you said they'd lose to Toronto, you said they'd lose to Carolina and you said they'd lose to Vegas. When they beat Boston, it wasn't "ok we were wrong" it was "they only won because....". Same with Toronto and the same again with Carolina. Now that they're finally losing, it's "we were right all along!!" when they were literally wrong in all three previous series ("Boston in 4" "Toronto in 5" "Carolina in 6").

Congrats all around for Florida finally losing to one of the #4 teams in the league after beating the #1, #2 and the other #4 team to get here in the first place.

Edit: The crazy thing is that I was really just cheering for Tkachuk in the beginning, who's been my favourite player in the league for the last few years, but once they beat Boston, I found myself actually cheering for the whole team... and I'm a fan now. They have some really fun players to watch, and how can you not like the story of Chucky finally being free to lead the way he wants to and watch a team completely buy into it and have both fun and success while doing it?

Don't kid yourself. There's been gloaters who have gotten cockier as the playoffs have gone on.

That doesn't mean that everyone who is supporting the Panthers is a gloater though.

I would like to see Bennet carry around the Cup and am certainly no Knights fan but I still think are going to win.
