UFA Re-signing: Deadline Monday July 16
Folks
The next stage in the off-season is UFA re-signing
As a reminder for any UFA you wish to re-sign
- All deals are 3 years
- All deals are 1 way
- All deals are per the UFA column on the grid
- You MUST have cap room to re-sign the player
To resign your player please send an email to cphltrade@yahoo.com with the following
Your team name in the subject line
The name of the player(s) you wish to re-sign
Their rating
The corresponding UFA grid amount
The total amount of per year cap required for those signings
The amount of cap you have available
The names of any player you are NOT re-signing
Deadline is next Monday 11:59 PM Calgary time
Any questions?

You want us to send an email in addition to posting which UFAs we have released in the UFA cut thread?

Once UFA bidding starts, is it possible to sign these players for less than their UFA grid amount?

Yes. Only use the UFA grid if you are resigning your UFAs. All 3 years and all 1 way deals.
All UFAs that are not signed by their teams will go into batches and then will get bid on by everyone. Highest amount takes him.

To add - highest amount is a calculation of guaranteed dollars. Meaning:
# of years (between 1-3) * per year term * AHL % (10% - 50%, or 1 way)
E.g. offers would look like
2 years @ 5.0/year * 25% = 2.5
1 year @ 4.5/year * 100% (1 way) = 4.5
The second offer would win.
Make sense?

Also not the best place to ask this, but on my roster page http://cphl.calgarypuck.com/rosters/was.htm it says that I have a $65.69 payroll, but when I sum total the column, I get $65.19. It's not a huge amount, but where would this extra 500K be coming from?

So you can offer 1 way deals in UFA bidding? I just noted this in the rules, but it must be out of date?
"Any UFA player signed through unrestricted free agency will sign be signed to a 2-way deal"

Not sure where that is coming from...
However, I do not think you received the 5.0 million from the league to get you to 75mil cap.

I added up mine and it's dead on, you have a coach listed at 500K, my guess is that you are being credited that 500K. Just a guess

Ok there's 3 deffent UFA processes that happen throughout the year
1. UFa re-signing - the one we are doing now and ALL these players must be offered a 1 Way Deal
2. UFA Signing (Our Free agency Frenzy type thing with players released in batches for the league to bid on) - This process you can offer 1 way or 2-way deal. Just understand that the winning bid goes to the team that offers the most guaranteed money
3 - Regular Free Agents ( This is the process used 90% of the year) and contracts are determianed by the years you are offfering
1 year: $1 million / season
· 2 year: $875 000 / season
· 3 year: $750 000 / season

Um I'd have to look at. Can you email cphltrade a spreadsheet or whatever you are using to make the calc?

Sorry to bug again, but if teams have sent me $2 million in cap space as well (essentially allowing me 77 in total cap), is this supposed to be reflected in this part of the roster page?

Yes, it would be shown there, but in your case, you haven't received 2M. You sent 1M to the Ducks (so -1M) and then recieved1M from the Sabres (+ 1M)
League Cap 70M
League Bomus+5M
Cap to the Ducks -1M
Cap from Sabres +1M
Total 75M
*Not bugging at all, best to ask questions as it helps others that don't know as well or haven't asked
