There's a Stephen Harper playing for Tucson.

Phillips (Tuulola, Solovyov) makes it 2-0 for the Heat.

Phillips now just two points back of Pelletier for the team scoring lead — Pelletier has played two games and two periods more than Phillips.

Yet Pelletier is a good prospect, Phillips a long shot.

It's the Tucson broadcast crew... so a bit annoying.

I'm rooting for Phillips and not opposed to seeing him get a chance, but not only the size difference, but 3 year age difference is really massive in this setting

Sounds like basically anyone worth tuning in to watch is sitting out.

3-0 Heat. Gawdin (Pettersen, Phillips) with a PP goal.
Werner really hasn't been tested tonight.

It's another five years separating Phillips from almost everyone else in the AHL top-10 scoring list. 23 is still quite young for that league.

Stockton D doing a good job tonight of clearing pucks away, despite deploying a bunch of PTOs and ECHL callups.

It was an okay game.
The Heat are so so far ahead in their own division, they can take a depleted lineup in stride.

They are. But those 3 players are all 27+. They aren't ever going to play for Carolina.

It's not likely any of them will come up and play a big role. But if they're a team who want to go on a long playoff run, the chances of keeping your top 12 forwards healthy is pretty slim. So they likely have built up this AHL depth for that reason where the 15th-16th forwards in their system are able to step into a playoff game and not be out of place.
