Default Accident at Columbia Icefields

Reports of a motorcoach rollover near the Columbia Icefields. According to a guy on this twitter feed, it's one of the SnoCoaches right on the glacier, that rolled due to a rockslide. Multiple agencies responding, including STARS from YEG, YYC & GP.

Yeah I just posted about it on the thread. I’m stuck on one of the other coaches on the glacier...

It’s been a crazy day, that’s for sure. Just hoping that everyone involved makes it out OK

Yikes. Code Orange called at the South Health hospital for a mass casualties situation.

Code Orange cancelled at South Health, which is not necessarily good news...

Yeah, just spoke to a reporter from the Globe and Mail. It looks like at least 4 fatalities from where I’m sitting... they have tarps covering the ground in at least four spots

Oh my god that's insane. We're out hiking near Banff and saw a bunch of ambulances driving west thinking something must have happened.

How many people does one of those things hold?

Edit: Saw Envitro's post:

"Hey all, haven’t seen it in the news yet, but at 2pm one of the big wheel bus-type rigs lost control coming down the steep 33 degree downhill and rolled off the embankment and Down the cliff / hill.

I was on the other side of the hill and we were waiting in our tour vehicle to come off the glacier and go up that very hill when we saw the driver lose control and the thing must have rolled a lot 5-6 times.

We’ve been stuck on the glacier ever since and we’re waiting for EMS and STARS to evacuate the survivors to Calgary.

This is a pretty surreal experience so far, having witnessed the very thing that we used to come down that very hill crash so violently...

Anyway, looks like at least 17 survivors, all in critical condition, that we’re aware of. We were told a total of 26 passengers and 1 driver were in the accident.

So, just waiting to hear word on the latest... hoping that there are no fatalities, but it didn’t look very good"

56, but I'd imagine less with Covid social distancing measures going on.

Just saw the news, we were leaving jasper and had to pull over for multiple cops racing down there. Hope it isn’t as bad as it sounds.

No seat belts in those things, awful.
Could be the end of Brewster's sno-coach tours.

RCMP reporting 3 fatalities so far.

Did Brewsters change their name/sell out? News says the company is Pursuit (Collection)?

I can't believe it's 2020 and there are no seatbelts on busses. Ridiculous.

Highway coaches have them, no idea why those sno-coaches don't.

I dont think those snow coaches go any faster than 40kmh. And speed limit is 30. Probably why there's no seatbelts
