I still don't get it. How can you point a finger at Tkachuk for 'not answering the bell' when a useless goon challenges you, for nothing more than taking a poke at McDavid, when the big nasty German didn't want to answer the bell for his slewfoot on Tkachuk?
Talk about being a coward - Draisaitl getting repeatedly punched in the face reminded me of one of the Sedins being punched in the face by Marchand.
The way that entire city is riled up, you have to figure that the Flames will end up dressing Peluso and Prout for that game. Fans want blood. Media wants blood. The pressure is going to be on Kassian, Nurse and Lucic to do something.
I am just amazed at the complete hypocrisy coming from that city. Pay Tkachuk his money. He earned it.
Because, E=NG. Dah!

The media and some Oiler Fans got a reality check today. That the organization is horribly run, and they are not going anywhere for a while even with the so called best player in the world.

Ha. The media are all bashing the Oilers today, with some questioning how long until McDavid has had enough.
Some of the media are employed by Rogers, which is financially invested in the Leafs. Now the Coilers fans are whining that the Leafs are supposedly pulling strings, trying to shake McDavid loose.
They can't fathom that this is most clearly a ridiculous situation for a player like McDavid to be in, and that it's perfectly intuitive to wonder how he could possibly be happy with that dump of a team.
That’s Kaetz’s go-to power-move on his casting couch

They should make new episodes showing their updated futility in the McDavid era and call it "New Paint Job: Covering up the Rust after the Honeymoon ends"
Mike Harrington @ByMHarrington
Wow. @Jeremy_Roenick bringing the heat on @EdmontonOilers. Called them a joke, too many “pajama boys” and “egomaniacs” not playing for the front of the sweater. And he’s right.

Is that true though? Is the problem they're not playing hard, or is the problem that they lack skill? I think they just lack skill. It doesn't matter how hard the D core tries, they'll still be a bunch of 3/4/5 defensemen trying to play on the first pairing. They're overmatched. Just because Chia paid Drai like he is an elite centre doesn't mean he's anything more than complementary winger for McDoodle. Heck, this is the best Nuge has ever performed, they can't expect more out of that guy. And the rest of the forwards are straight up junk.
This is really all on Chia. Expecting guys like Rattie, Khaira, Kassian, the Drake, Rieder etc, etc to perform above replacement level is absurd. Most of them shouldn't even be in the NHL. Chiasson is their 4th best forward and he was a PTO! Chia's lucky one of the other bottom feeder teams didn't have an injury and the end of camp and scoop him.
These guys haven't even begun to mail it in. Give them a couple months of losing and having Hitch yell at them, then you'll see real apathy.
