YES! I'm so glad the Flames didn't trade for him. Go after him in free agency if they want but this team simply couldn't afford the price. I'm not sure why Vancouver is going so hard this year as it's a little early in that team's development to be going all-in like this.

They'd love to get rid of Baretchi, he's been on waivers twice, down in Utica and has major concussions issues and a hefty salary cap hit. He's not NHL caliber anymore.

Bingo bango, Tyler Madden. He's a good grab for the Kings.

It makes sense how dog #### the Pacific is this year. May as well swing for the fences, make some moves and hope for a little luck in the playoffs.

For real, they have relied on Markstrom way to much this year. If he falters, they are done.

I like Toffoli, but he's not the most fleet of foot and he's a pure goal scorer. One of those is fine but the Canucks already have one in Boeser. The redundancy sounds like the same redundancy we had with Monahan and Neal last year.

Dim jim shot his load too soon, I agree.
Bad time to put yourself out of a first or second round pick. They were hitting it out of the park with their high picks and needed to just keep doing that. Toffoli likely won't stick around and they still won't be good enough to go deep.

^ Also Myers.
Meh. We can buy nothing, sell at least one of our D and still beat the Canucks in the first round.

I'd like the Flames to go after Namestnikov. Probably wouldn't cost much, maybe a 4th and a prospect. He's on a similar level as Toffoli.

If the Flames would have acquired Taffoli, where exactly would he play? You can’t really drop Mangiapani or Lindholm.

If you're going to do something that's the kind of move it should be. Palmieri has a year left, is a great skater and has an incredible shot. Superior player to Toffoli.
I think he ends up in Boston though.

It seems like they are trying to kick their contending open window open earlier - which is a mistake most Canadian teams seem to make, including the Flames.
The JT Miller trade has been good so far though.
This is more than I would have wanted the Flames to give up.

That's actually a fairly costly return.
It won't be worth it for the Nucks when all's said and done.

The Canucks sure like the guy they dealt

Reminds me of when the Oilers' PR account made a Spencer Foo highlight video.
