I like 1 and 2 and hope they happen, they would fit the team's needs perfectly.
However since Zucker cost the Penguins a first rounder, I would think Toffoli will cost a conditional first (if he signs). Both are 25 goal - 50 point wingers around the same age.

Exactly!
There's ton of room in the Trade Rumours thread for whining, speculation and daydreaming. This is a guessing game for bragging rights, baby.

Hanafin for Nylander, re-sign Brodie. Hamonic for the stretch run then let him walk. Might get them to round 2 with out sacrificing the future.

No. Just feel at this point watching the Flames it's a pipe dream. Kapanen is the kind of reward to.your team you give them when they're pushing and working hard. Not playing like hot poop for 7 put of every ten games.

Toffoli has only scored above 24 goals once in his career. He has only scored above 49 points once in his career. Same story with Zucker if I’m not mistaken. I would call them 20 goal, 40 point players. I’d rather have the first rounder because I’m guessing it’s gonna be a decent one the way this team plays lately.

I feel Toffoli will be coming in for a 2nd and prospect as per a lot of rumours and some interesting facial expressions during a conversation between him and Gaudreau during one of the faceoffs yesterday. But, hope it'll be J. Anderson due to his size.
I think Bennett will be leaving us for a depth defenseman and a 4th.
I also think putting Gaudreau in the list of realistic trade possibilities is unrealistic. I'm thinking a 0% chance that's being considered as a deadline possibility. Maybe a draft day possibility, but only if we miss or ####e the bed again in the first round.

Lol. Maybe last year where it wasn't quite obvious if Beauvillier was going to be a true top-six or a tweener passenger on a line with Barzal. But now he's broken out this year, on pace for 25 goals and 55 points playing with Brassard/Nelson/Bailey, while playing a more complete game. There's really no reason why they would trade him for a 31 year old Backlund.

I think Toffoli happens for a reasonable cost. 3rd+AHL prospect.
I don't think we'll see anyone shipped out.

Edit: Didn't read it properly this is what I want the Flames to do to keep their first and prospects. What I think they will do is trade all the 2nds and 3rds they can get their hands on for rentals or washed up post apex players like Wayne Simmonds.

Had to look this guy up, but he actually sounds like the type of player that the Flames should target. Point per game player in the AHL for two seasons, as a natural right winger. Definition of a depth casualty from a good team.

I believe the Blues drafted Kyrou with the draft pick we gave them for Brian Elliot as well as it was a 2nd and a conditional.

Well, that hurts a little bit more. He looks like a 6 foot, 200 pound right handed Mangiapane.

2020 1st + 2021 1st + Pelletier + Kylington for a couple weeks of Andy Greene, Simmonds and Vatanen.
Flames miss the playoffs, all players walk as UFA's and the picks win the lottery...both years.
Actually, I could see them giving up a ton for Hall and still missing the playoffs.

Much better skater though-leading scorer for team Canada at the WJC a few years back, he looked pretty good....
