Getty Images has an office in Calgary, so they have a lot of stock photos and videos of Calgary.

I guess you don't know what the skyline of New York OR Calgary looks like.

In fairness, it flashed very quick. But yeah the Bow building tipped me off too. Rewinded it and froze it and yup, without a doubt, it's Calgary. The Petro Canada (Different name now?) twin towers are in there too.

It was actually that Suncor profile that instantly clicked for me, then I noticed the Bow

It's actually iStockphoto which was started in Calgary and Getty eventually purchased.

Oliver has blown this thing out of the water. Absolutely nailing it on almost everything and covering a diverse array of topics that North America, and the US in particular, are not well-versed in.

I love how quickly he has become pervasive in the media. He actually seems to be driving change on most of his shows just with social media intervention by his audience. It seems like any time he challenges a group, they respond in some way, generally in a positive and humorous manner. It's too bad he's only once a week, but if it allows him to put together a better quality product, it's fine by me. I hope he gets extended to an hour-long program.

I think once a week is perfect because they pack the show with top notch stuff from start to finish. The Daily Show is great but many nights are just meh, while John Oliver puts an outstanding polished show every week which has got the attention of so many people that he is starting to have a real influence on that coveted crowd that uses the Daily show to keep in touch with politics and news.

I think an hour would be a tough ask, the format is pretty bang on as it is. I love the fact that its on HBO.

I'm telling you, for my purposes HBO has been worth the money.

And a rebuttal from Warner himself...

Quote:
Complete with dramatic music, some unusual name calling, and the cold, steely glare we've come to know so well in recent weeks, former FIFA vice-president Jack Warner took to the airwaves in Trinidad to respond to "comedian fool" John Oliver.

"Any person with the level of resources that Mr Warner has would be considered a flight risk," Trinidad Attorney General Garvin Nicholas said. "We certainly made it a lot more difficult for him to escape or leave the country."

I thought the sad, slow music was a nice touch and then it rises to its triumphant crescendo!

Except for the fact that everything he says is lies and hes directing people away from his corruption and instead talking like hes the President of Trinidad and Tobago instead of actually responding to his corruption and impending indictment.

He should really just stop talking.

I loved how his previous videos had that theme song from inception as the background, kind of like his life, all the delusions he lives within.

Oh and the song in the background this time was used without permission lol

John Oliver nails it again.

You usually get one extreme or the other with these sex ed folks. Extreme religious people who teach only abstinence, or extreme anti-religious people who will teach that abstinence is bad, and ridicule that particular choice. There needs to be a middle ground.

The bit last Sunday on DC Statehood was brilliant as usual. Love the ending song especially.

Really?

Anti-religious people teaching abstinence is bad? Educators promoting promiscuity? No teacher goes out and promotes sex. Even the ones that like it.

Your going to have to clarify here, but I smell BS. Please clarify and add examples. Not only have I never seen this or heard of it, but it makes no sense.

Unless you count putting condom machines in schools promoting promiscuity.

EDIT: Also, is there a person in regular society that is 'extreme anti religious', as you put it and making decisions or laws? Yeah, some bloggers and such, but in regular society? Making decisions? Affecting our children?

Like a flat earth society, or those against man made global warming, this is a false equivalency. No such thing. An argument without merit. There's no middle ground here. One side is completely wrong. Yes, abstinence is right for some, and to be honest, kids could use some self control, but teaching it as the only thing is wrong. Morally and societal. And on the flip side, no one teaches the other. This has never ever happened. No teach said 'get out there and f***'.

Weird, stupid, wrong, and dangerous comment. Ignorant even.

only 22 states mandate sex ed and only 13 require that the information to be "medically accurate"?

WTF? You might as well not even teach it if it's not medically accurate.
