Still have this sinking feeling Ohio State is getting in. ESPN trying to influence things not surprising.

Nah, there is no way they can justify moving osu ahead of ou based on this weekend.
The espn experts sure aren’t lobbying for Ohio state. http://www.espn.com/college-football...off-picks-espn
I think Georgia has a real chance which would be kind of lame.

Georgia getting in would render actual results meaningless. Yes they played Alabama better than anyone probably will all year, but they also blew a two touchdown second half lead in a "neutral site" game that was really more of a home game. Why should they get another chance, because they'd obviously be fourth.

Thats the correct teams IMO.
Though I still don't think ND is in the class of any of the others in the top 6.
They draw eyeballs and are a longtime brand and that still matters for $$. I expect Clemson to obliterate them.

Ohio state never had any shot of getting in. The Purdue loss was far too damaging. That’s the correct top 4 teams.

It ended up being not too controversial at all. Georgia had their chance, but didn't take advantage of it. They have no one to blame but themselves.
It's getting a little boring with every playoff being 3 of (OU/OSU/Clemson/Alabama) plus one other. 8 teams would make for more fun matchups.

I look forward to Meyer's return to health coinciding with Brian Kelly's eventual departure from Notre Dame.

Sounds like it's different this time so I'm not so sure he's coming back. I'm not a huge fan of him personally but there's no arguing the success he had on the field. Third highest winning percentage in history and 186 wins in 17 seasons - that's an average of 11 wins per season which is incredible.

7-0 vs Michigan. That alone is a crazy record.
Oh and for coming back - the only place I could see him going is USC in a year. He'd have them on top so quickly.

Apparently he has a cyst on his brain and it causes severe headaches. If true then i doubt he ever sets foot on the sidelines again.
i agree with MRC^^
USC would be the one destination he would resurface if he was to come back I would think. Maybe Auburn?

I’m sure the cyst will be just as big of an issue as the heart problem was once a job he wants opens up in two years. Urban gonna Urban.

Meyer, who has coached Ohio State for the past seven seasons, will formally announce he's stepping down at a 2 p.m. news conference in Columbus alongside Day and athletic director Gene Smith. The 54-year-old has battled the effects of an arachnoid cyst on his brain, which causes severe headaches, especially when under stress. The cyst was diagnosed in 1998 but worsened the past few years, and Meyer dropped to his knees on the sideline during an October game against Indiana and often looked distressed during games, rubbing his head and wincing.

Well in the era of video game passing numbers, always funny to see a QB with a stat line that reads 0/5, 0 yards, 2 INTs like Navy's QB currently has.

Because some years there are 3 teams worthy of a shot, so they made it four. Let's get serious, Clemson and Alabama are the only two teams that could beat the other, Notre Dame is in there because they are Notre Dame and were undefeated so you can't keep them out, but any of these 1 loss teams who are pissed off can #### off.

I think it's just a matter of time before it goes to 6 or 8 teams, but there is a lot of work to do to get there.
But on the other side of the coin, realistically each year there are only a handful of teams at the very top anyhow. This year is Bama and arguably Clemson. Even ND, OU, and OSU probably don't stack up against those two so why even go to four teams? (rhetorical question)
When there were only two teams selected in the BCS day there was always a debate that the #3 team was close enough to be considered but was always shut out. Now that there are four teams the debate is always between 4 and 5 and who should be ranked where. If they went to 8 teams then we would have the same debate for 8/9. Regardless of how many teams there are there will always be a debate at the cutoff line.

There will always be a debate but it’ll be less controversial the further down the list you go.
There’s a big difference between arguing 3 vs 5 vs 9. Getting 2/3 wrong is massive. Getting 8/9 wrong is who cares.
Problem with 8 teams is the games played. No room for it unless they extend to mid January. Not to mention the potential for injury and guys sitting out for the draft.
