don't think Blues are shopping him, but teams are calling
one of those teams are Toronto
Kypreos speculates that the Leafs will offer the Blues Zaitsev, a pick, and a faster player in return

LA, Philly, Chicago, Minnesota, Florida, Pittsburgh, Boston seem to be most active teams in trade talks right now

lots of support at BOG meetings for expanded playoffs but Bettman not a fan
Makes sense that this would be Toronto's opening offer. I suspect the Blues counter offer replaces Pietrangelo with Bouwmeester...

Insider trading:

https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/video/insider...monton~1561671

If the Oilers make the playoffs, Hitchcock will likely get an extension
Probably similar deal in Dallas where he is a head coach that would transition into an advisory role

Flyers GM Chuck Fletcher wants to make a deal before the Dec 19 deadline.
Besides a goaltender, wants a veteran d-man and wants a top 9 forward
Won't force a move, but if the fit is there

Leafs want a power forward and Simmonds or Ferland could be in consideration
Leafs coaches would love a power forward, but at what cost?
But Leafs management is more keen on a right shot defenceman preferably a top paring guy

Bruins have kicked tires on Charlie Coyle.
Maybe not imminent, but it now appears Fenton is now ready to act after taking over as Wild GM

In the summer Blackhawks core will be asked if they want to stay for a rebuild.
If they say yes, they will be Blackhawks for life.
Keith is interesting as he has a reasonable cap hit and some teams Lebrun talked to would absolutely be interested if he should be available.

IIHF president Fasel's term is up in 2020
Many speculating he will take a high position job in the KHL
Some rumors that Bob Nicholson might be the next president of the IIHF

I wonder what they could get for Kane if he decides to leave.

Kane and Gaudreau would be fun on the same club, that contract though...

Damn I wish Calgary could have grabbed Dylan Strome if we knew he would be traded for peanuts.

If the Flames had Bobrovsky in net I'd feel really alot more comfy and we would be legit contenders imo

Strome was traded for peanuts?

I don’t think so.

Certainly not for Tkachuk, Kane is 30 and I’d imagine the Hawks are going to blow it up this season, only thing I could see the Flames being able to offer is Bennett, Valimaki, future 1st’s...

A 22 year old previous first round pick who already has a 50+ point season under his belt is peanuts? Especially odd since Schmaltz has 6 points in 6 games with his new club. If anything, it would have been nice to get Schmaltz for the peanuts...

There's really nothing comparable to that on the Flames so I'm not sure what you think the Flames could have offered. Tkachuk, Monahan, Lindholm are obviously far better than Schmaltz and Bennett and Jankowski are far worse.

Maybe you got Dylan Strome confused with Ryan Strome?

We would have to send big salary back and to get them to retain that much on Kane it would take an elite young piece. But yea i thought he was like 27-28 for some reason. 30 is a bit up there. If we had a good goalie and another good centre i think i would be down to do that trade it could be what we need to win a cup. Anyways i doubt he waives to come to Cgy so its never gonna happen. Just throwing an idea out there.

Backlund is probably the closest we could have offered and i wouldn't do that at all.

Backlund's almost 30 though. A bit of a stretch to assume that the Coyotes would even be looking at him for their 21 year old. The names listed were the forwards in that age group that they would probably were considering.
