Notable is actually really good. I live like 3 blocks from it. Guess that thing is going down.

Crazy. He’s a Calgary restaurant celebrity.

Very, very good food joints. Too bad.

I feel bad for his employees who did nothing wrong but will soon find themselves unemployed.

Does it really need to go under? Does Noble even do anything day to day on site? Surely they can still operate and find a new executive chef to build a menu.

He's the owner and executive chef. I don't know about you, but I'm not planning to patronize his businesses again.

Unless he sells it right away. Would you be comfortable with giving him your money? I mean the roast chicken is amazing but there are limits.

Should we give it a minute and hear his side, or bankrupt him right away?

If the charges are dropped or if he goes to trial and is found not guilty, I'll have no problem dining at The Nash or Notable again. Unless and until that happens, though, I'll be taking my business elsewhere. It's not like there's a shortage of excellent restaurants in Calgary.

I get the sentiment, for sure, but does it trouble you at all that unproven accusations are that damaging that they could bankrupt an otherwise successful business? Also, why, in your view, would it be morally questionable to continue to frequent his establishment until he's convicted or pleads guilty? Basically, the flip side of your strategy.

He's more "an" owner than "the" owner of either restaurant. The restaurants are somewhat branded around him however, so this will hurt business, but I wouldn't expect the charges to take the restaurants down with him, at least in the short term. They've grown beyond just his persona, the food is excellent, and a large swath of the population doesn't know who he is or his connection to the restaurants.

He's probably Calgary's most famous chef however (there are 5 to 10 right there with him, but he tends to be the most known), and this news is very disappointing.

He does say in the article that he is stepping back from the day to day running of the restaurants until this is resolved. To me this is reasonable as Suspend with Pay until the process is complete is the appropriate action for employees who are charged and in positions of Authority. So he has effectively suspended himself.

If there starts to be a Gomeshi worth of accusations that this is the first of them I'd change my mind but I think provided he actually stays away from the business a boycott is premature.

If you were wrongfully accused who would you hire?
If you were guilty who would you hire?

I don't think the answer changes regardless of your guilt or innocence.

If he’s innocent he should obviously defend himself.

In wake of allegations against MP Christine Moore, why don't male victims of sexual harassment report?

Males socialized to believe they can't seek help, says support worker

I would guess that they don't report it because they feel that reputation wise it makes them less of a man.

Plus men don't like being victims, when we get our butts kicked in a fight, we don't talk about it.

Plus there's the whole stigma that a man can't be sexually assaulted or raped by a woman because of how our parts work.
