There is a rail line and multiple hydro trails.
They could have easily followed either and just ducked into the bush whenever they heard something.
Its hard to realize just how desolate and isolate those areas are until you've been up there. Just the complete middle of nowhere and so easy to get lost.

Its a vicious cycle. Craziness breads craziness. This guy aint all there and made an incapable father, and I'm sure the mom is no better. And I'm sure Alan's father was no better, etc, etc. This story is the worst extension of how these things turn out.

Unless they prepared for this, I'm still of a mind that they're now in the digestive track of multiple animals.
I wonder how good these tips are that the RCMP are receiving about sightings.

I'm starting to think they're dead at this point.

I'm wondering about this indigenous patrol group. Are they armed as reported? Are they RCMP supported? What exactly do they do?

If they wanted this to have a violent ending, they would gone into town instead of hiding out in the bush. Fortunately, the longer things stay quiet the more likely they will be too weak to put up much of a fight, if they're even still alive. It's also possible one or both have committed suicide at this point.

RCMP is saying they have not seen them since the tip they got yesterday that they were in York Landing, and the search continues.
Bizarre. If they got there with dogs they should have been able to pickup the scent at the landfill where they were spotted.
Unless it started raining.

What is the RCMP saying when they say the "need to identify them"
Their parents have spoken out already.

Does anyone have any faith in the RCMP to figure this thing out?

i'd imagine it is very unsettling for the residents of York Landing to have all of this police and media presence, so i would think part of the Bear Clan's role maybe to help locals feel as good as the possibly can about all of these outsiders.

The Bear's Clan does a great job in Winnipeg, so I'm sure they are helping quite a bit up north to help the locals interact with the RCMP & Military.

That's a lot of land that they're hiding in, and after a week they have to be running out of food. At the same time, I doubt they have the survival skills to survive for that long.
This might end up being like a DB Cooper thing that they become a mystery.
If they wanted suicide by cop they would have done it by now.

I do. They’ll get these guys, if a polar bear or other animal doesn’t, or if they don’t take their own lives first.

So, presuming they are have been eaten, starved to death or have committed suicide, how long does the search continue?
There's a lot of territory to cover... At what point do the authorities look at the odds and presume they're toast (one way or another)? Because if they don't reach that presumption eventually, the search could go on indefinitely.

One thing to note - they probably aren't starting any fires, so that is one less thing they have to keep warm at night and mosquitoes at bay. My guess is they are sticking to marshlands and moving during the rain so their footprints don't last. I'm not sure what the end game here is, but their energy is probably pretty low with lack of sleep and debilitating environment. I suspect they'll be found either dead or emaciated. Dead is more likely.

Looks like they have been spotted scavenging in a dump in York Landing. Gotta think the net is closing in here.

I believe you can also get anaphylaxis from too many mosquito bites.
Eventually, something is going to kill them if they don't get caught. They really couldn't have picked a worse place to get lost.
