Hurricanes: 46-29-7, 99 points (seventh in the eastern conference) Bruins: 49-24-9, 107 points (third in the eastern conference)
Regular-season series: Bruins won 2-1-0 (Hurricanes 1-1-1) Games were on March 5, December 23, and October 30.
TheRealPepman mentioned it in his post that this will be the fifth time the Hurricanes and Bruins meet in the playoffs. The Hurricanes won the last series 4-3 in the 2009 OT thriller.
I think Boston has the definite edge in net and a slight edge up front. Carolina's defense is better however. I feel like the clock strikes midnight on the Hurricanes run against the Bruins, but these playoffs have been a weird beast and it would be nice to see Dougie and Ferland win. My guess is Bruins in 6 though.
If Boston gets hit with enough injuries, this series could become McElhinney vs. Stempniak.
