Other than that, it was fine. I'd like more modern Pacific Theatre movies, but I feel like WW2 movies will be extinct soon. It's also a little more touchy to do a Pacific movie in the modern era because racism was pretty central on both sides.
edit: oh man, I just realized Ed Skrein played the Daario they replaced in Game of Thrones. Basically the moment he had to start reading lines they got someone else.

Skrein was good in Deadpool though.

Is this what he tells people? Because I thought GOT was just gaining steam when he came on in season 3.
According to a lazy google search, he says he was replaced because of "politics"

Minari. Just watch it. Another really great Korean language film about a Korean families move to Arkansas. Really really well done. Won best foreign film at the Globes even though it is an American film.

Don't you go to Blockbuster to rent them anymore?

Just a reminder that Canyon Meadows Theater is open from 4PM to 9PM selling popcorn and everything else they have available. Great little cheap theater, I'm hoping they survive so I've been there a few times for popcorn, better than the Orville Redenbacher I make at home.

I Care a Lot.
Entertaining little thriller that Netflix dropped in the Comedy section. Great cast and worth watching. Two fatal flaws in the writing, but one is because they were written into a corner and couldn't get out, and the other was in service of Rosamind Pike being front and centre in a scene clearly meant for someone else. Doesn't take away from enjoyment of the movie, but keeps it from elevating to that higher tier.
I'd still recommend it.

Amazon Prime has the Canadian rights for it and a handful of other countries. Netflix in the US.
I had a hard time getting past the flaws

I just wanted to throw something out on Coming 2 America - I personally thought it was awful. Like a SNL spoof of the original characters played by the original actors. Seemed to be all quite forced. If you really like the original, I’d stay away, because it’ll probably make the original seem worse afterwards.

I actually really enjoyed Coming 2 America (granted, I have no recollection of ever having seen the original).
It's stupid and predictable, but fun. Plus it feature the triumphant return of Wesley Snipes which - if nothing else - justifies the film's existence. Hopefully Blade 4 can't be far behind.

They are doing an MCU Blade reboot with Mahershala Ali, so... I wouldn’t hold your breath.

I never got around to watching Ralph Breaks The Internet because of it's stupid name (seriously, how did no one at Disney make the obvious choice with Ralph Wrecks The Internet?), but after finally watching it with my kid I was really impressed. Just as good as the first without retreading any ground with some important lessons about friendship. But what blew me away is when Venelope goes to the Disney world and I realized that they got all of the original voice actors for all of the princesses, even C3P0. I know it's all in-house, but that's still damn impressive for a 5 minute scene

The scene with all the princesses is hilarous.

I loved it when Cinderella breaks the glass slipper to use as a weapon like a broken bottle. It's the little things like that that make these movies work for adults.

OK I never saw the movie! Yet if Cinderella is breaking her glass slipper and using it as a knife I have to watch it now. Better story line than John Wick 4!

The Disney princesses definitely stole that show in that movie, both of their scenes are just great.

No sane African person would go to America at the moment.
