Not sure where else the Flames can makes upgrade in the top 9. Huberdeau isn't going anywhere, Kadri isn't either, and Coleman seems pretty happy too.

Kevin Rooney may be a lot of things, but "stellar" is not one of them.

Kinda but Lindholm was more evasive and standoffish, while the Americans tended to just lie and say they did want to be here when they didn't. "I dunno" feels a bit more honest

Chychrun had some bad teams in Arizona and now has had a bad team in Ottawa. Success changes a lot and this year they were expected to be better so while I'm sure he has given it some thought, he probably wasn't expecting to.

These kids are so coached on interviews and messaging that it's safe to assume he knows exactly what he is doing here. He's saying he wants out.

If he was trying to force the team to extend he would probably say something like, 'I really want to be here but we haven't received any offers yet.'

Ottawa, in my opinion, has the exact same challenges as Calgary. Highly desired good players will only want to stay in these 2 cities if the team is a contender, on the cusp. If they aren't, they will prefer to move somewhere else.

And both have to deal with their media darling provincial rivals and their lottery luck.

Flames Sens and Flyers are all very similar

I would want to be in Ottawa. New owners want momentum. Great young players. Goalies suck. But that can be fixed. Maybe Chychrun is in trade rumours because he’s a hassle to have

There is no way a dude from FL wants to stay in Ottawa long term.

Would Sean Monahan sign back here? That would make me happy. Better than chandler Stephenson

I can’t see Monahan back in a Flames jersey. It seems the tonic for his game was leaving Calgary.

Say what? LOL. He hasn't come even close to putting up the numbers he put up in a single season as a Flame haha. I get the boo hoo, we always suck, and all Flames things sucks, but check his stats. 82 points in his best year ever (as a Flame) and combining his season totals with other teams don't even beat that single season record.

Not that anyone wants to sit here and read about someone’s tankathon sims all day but I thought this was pretty funny. I simmed it once and Arizona won first overall lol. Upsetti Spaghetti.

My guess is Vancouver wont resign him, and he will not get the big payday he wanted.
I, for one, am glad he did not stay. If we are rebuilding, we need to be rid of players like him.
My opinion.

Given Ras' comments today what do you think we could reasonably expect in a return? And who do you think might be interested?

I'm not saying he's necessarily requesting a trade, but listening to that whole interview makes it pretty clear he loves Calgary, but wants to be in the playoffs and that ain't happening here in the next two years at least.

I assume his value is highest now with two years remaining on a very reasonable contract.

First, very good prospect, good roster player minimum.

Think several teams would be interested probably coming down to which prospect he flames like best. Hopefully a center.

That was then, this is now. He was given up for dead by Calgary, who sacrificed a first round pick to dump him.

He’s not coming back here to reclaim lost glory.
