Calgary wins a blowout and the three forwards with the highest TOI are Lindholm(17:20), Ryan(17:14), and Hathaway(16:21). The difference between highest and lowest TOI among forwards is 5:51.

The next night the Oilers win a blowout and the top forwards for TOI are Draisaitl(21:33), RNH(18:20), and McDavid(17:03 while supposedly ill). The difference between top and low TOI is 12:01.

Good coaching!

But tonight after he scored his break away goal he looked pretty healthy, no way he had the flu yesterday and needed to miss the skills comp. What a pathetic captain. I don't doubt he was driving around yesterday having a fun day on his own (with the GF), the entitlement has set in with him and he has no remorse. Zero chance they go anywhere any time soon. Love it.

I liked it better when we made fun of the team Oilers. McDavid is a 22 year old kid.

I would agree... it wasn't McDavid's fault that Edmonton won the draft lottery and he was selected by Edmonton - it was the NHL's for having a bad draft lottery system that allowed one team to have 4 first overall picks in just 6 years.

Now.... because of Edmonton, the NHL keeps tweaking the formula to try and insure that the draft lottery isn't an incentive to having a race to the bottom to secure an elite player.

I see so many issues with this lottery - for one, if you were an elite player, would you want to go to the worst team in the league - one that could be there because of their own mismanagement and failure to develop previously picked young players (and three first overall picks in Edmonton's case).

After winning the lottery - your ball should be removed from the drum for the next few lotteries (maybe 5 to 10 years). Calgary was rebuilding as well... yet our highest pick was 6th (2013) at the time (our highest pick ever was fourth - once in 2014). Edmonton had 3 first overall picks in a row (2010, 2011, 2012) and then the McDavid pick in 2015. One could argue that Edmonton failed to properly develop all those picks and that each of those players would be better if they went somewhere else.

He's a man not a kid and nobody put a gun to his head and forced him to basically sell out the first half of his hockey career in the name of $100 million.

Public shaming over appearance is weak. Comments like "Meth" ect being bantered around are beneath us IMO.

I get it "if you don't like it, don't click on the thread"

I just think there are enough things to pick the Oil apart on without stooping to that level.

I dislike like the Oilers allot, but I'm incredibly proud McDavid is Canadian.

Elect him Prime Minister then, if Trudeau can do it anyone can.

In the meantime he is the (highly paid) Captain of our closest rivals and the Worst. Hockey. Team. Ever.

And like it or not, hes a part of that. He might be the best part but being the best part of the worst thing is still No Good.

Anyways, the guy gets the Flu like clockwork, you can damned near set your watch to it.

I find it strange you would be proud of someone because his mother happened to give birth in a particular geographic region.... what influence did you have on that, or did anyone "Canadian" (aside from his parents) have on that? What has he done to advance Canada as a great nation?

Wow, really? Are we back in mid-20th century?

I don't give a hoot about a player's nationality. Especially one on a rival team.

If anything, I'm impressed by Sweden because they had about 100 players in the NHL last season.

He did/does look terrible though, and to be fair it's not only CP that has picked up on that.

What does being Canadian have to do with the fact that playing for the Oilers long enough has made a 22 year old look like a meth addict?

Not very proud of the Flames - so many Americans, Swedes, and a couple Czechs. Canadians a (slight) minority.
