Well well. Djoker just needs one break point to take the end set.
Rafael had 4, including 0-40.

Neither the overhead nor the dropper is working for Novak today.

A 9th title to Rafa!!!!!!!!! This match is sweet relief, if he lost this he would have had no belief going into the French. He now edges ahead of Novak with his 34th Masters 1000 title.

Those last two matches against Delpo and Diego really drained Joker for today's match. Congrats to Rafa on another Italian Open.

Nadal lost 20 games in Italy, his record was 2010 Monte Carlo when he lost a stupid 14 games.

Good Morning early risers. The qualifying tournament for the French Open is underway and our famous (or perhaps infamous) lucky loser is in action right now.
Peter PoLLansky is currently leading Barbados' finest Darian King 6-4 as of the end of the 1st set in his first round qualifying match.
Another result of note for me is that Marcos Giron just smoked Donald Young by a score of bagel and breadstick (6-0, 6-1). Not surprised that he beat Young, but I am surprised by that comprehensive scoreline.

In other Canadian action, Steven Diez advances in Lyon as he takes out Tomic the Tank Engine who retired down 6-4 4-1.

A couple of interesting accomplishments from Nadal today. After his Rome Title he now has the record for most consecutive years with at least one title with 16, passing a tie with Fed at 15.
Also as of today he has been ranked in the top 10 a consecutive 735 weeks, passing Fed for 2nd place and 54 weeks behind Connors for the record.

Felix is on court in Lyon taking on Australian John Millman - No tv for this one I believe.
Edit: Felix takes the opening set in a tie-breaker (7-3 was the tie-breaker score). Had multiple break points in the first set, just didn't cash in on any.

Hope Felix can keep a good level of play.
He has to against Millman because even though Millman has no big weapons of any degree, he can grind you down if you're either off your game or suffer any kind of big dip in form.

And just like that Felix breaks Millman at the death and puts to rest the grinding Aussie.
7-6 (7-3), 7-5.
Trunk slammed!

Zero double faults from Felix this match is another beautiful bonus from this result.
