Feel bad for Morris....he was really looking like a featured type back. Obviously the injury is bad enough the team has to walk away from him. Hope he can rehab enough to get back to playing again and pursue his dreams.

Now Nate Holley? Go make people forget who's spot you got on the roster!!

How about that screw job the CFL tried to hit the players with last night? Just a scum bag move. I’ve lost a lot of respect for the league.

I havent read the details but it sounded more like some ambiguous language in a couple places of the CBA more than anything else.

Highly doubt it was some master plan to try and screw over the players. BOTH sides needed this t happen and not have a labor stoppage.

Nate Holley highlights from safety

Just some thought.

He has really good speed, and really good sideline to sideline pursuit.

He makes good decisions

His angles look strong and his pursuit looks strong

He's got a good closing step.

Great down hill technique

Good tackling technique

He's mostly played safety, its a whole different thing playing in traffic in the box.

He might be that second and long or first and passing coverage LB more then a tunstopper every down guy

It’s being reported they changed the language in the owners favour on some high importance issues thinking they already had the players in Canada and in camp and if they striked would be on the hook for their own accommodations or plane ticket home.

That is some shady BS. There’s an article on it on 3rd Down Nation.

Konar snapped up by the Leos.

The B.C. Lions have signed Canadian linebacker Adam Konar. Konar was released by the Edmonton Eskimos on Saturday, he was due a report and pass bonus. But it was more about Konar being asked to take a pay cut and answering no that led to his release.

Interesting column from Dave Naylor today about Bo's time looking for an NFL job:
https://www.tsn.ca/legacy-led-mitche...gary-1.1308539
Quote:
Legacy led Mitchell back to Calgary

Bo Levi Mitchell had just finished his December workout in Denver when he found himself standing face to face with one of his boyhood idols.

John Elway, the pro football Hall of Famer and current Broncos team president, was praising Mitchell’s workout and career in Canada when the Canadian Football League’s reigning Most Outstanding Player asked if he could interrupt.

“I said, ‘John, listen, everywhere I’ve been my entire life in football – high school, college, professional – I’ve won a championship. And I’ve done it within the first two years that I’ve been there. I know you. You’re a championship guy and you want to hold the Lombardi Trophy over your head. So if you want to do that, sign me and I’ll get it done in the next two to three years.‘ ”

Elway responded immediately. “Okay. We’re signing you today.”

I won't say that Bo is a friend or anything like that, but I've sat in on a couple of our pod casts that we've had him on, and he is a genuine, really nice guy, but he's driven and it comes off of him in waives. He's extremely intense as well.

He told us that he came to his first camp and stormed into Huff's office halfway through the camp and told Huff he should be starter. Huff gave him the Huff look and said he had a bus ticket home if he didn't like the situation. After that Bo learned that he had to learn and show some patience.

Was it still Burris at that point or was it just Drew Tate ahead of him? Either way he was right haha

Great thread to catch up on some CFL news as camps open. Thanks to all of you who make this thread what it is.

Will this be the season that finally breaks the East-West playoff format? With Harris in Edmonton, the top 3 QBs will likely have to duke it out in the West .... unless Edmonton goes their usual route as a crossover.

That was probably the best QB depth we’ve ever had

All 3 of those men could’ve started and we would’ve had a great chance in winning

The Sackmaster and Micah Johnson are wagering one thousand dollars on who will get the most sacks this season.

That Rider defense will be pretty good, but I dunno how good their record will be with the 5 passing TDs they will get the whole year. That kicker they had last year was pretty good, but again, I don't think never having possession in the other team's half and going for a bunch of 50+ yard field goals is the best winning formula.
