I liked the first episode. Full disclosure, Im a sucker for anything on white collar crime so its not a surprise I liked it.
I really like the casting of Damian Lewis. Despite being white, anglo, etc, which would be your typical white collar villian I dont really believe that he is a bad guy. Yet he clearly his. I dont know, I like the contrast of my own perception.
Plus for Giamatti and Akerman. Good cast all around.
I just feel like its "OK". The first episode just seemed a little weird and like it was trying too hard. I know how they set it up, but its bizarre that the guys wife works for another guy (and has for like 15 years) and they hate each other so vehemently. That seems like a scenario that would break down faster than 15 years.
I don't know. I will give it a shot and see how the next couple episodes are I suppose.
I thought there would be a little more chatter on this one. I have really enjoyed the first couple episodes. I feel like both men have been great along with the wives. Even though Malin Akerman doesn't fit into the main plot she has shown how important she is to the success of Damian Lewis.
I'm a big Giamatti fan, and was looking forward to this based on the previews/commercials, but I'm disappointed after the second episode. Can't quite put my finger on it. I think some of the dialogue is a little rough, or trying to be TOO clever. I dunno.
As well, for dramas like this there is a lot out there that's really solid. Kinda feels like a cheaper/worse version of House of Cards or something. I know it's slightly different topic matter, but it's basically the same type of show.
