I have gotten into The Flight of the Conchords. Not sure how I missed out on this before. It’s a brilliant comedy. I usually find musical numbers boring and bad, but these guys are really funny.
Not sure if you already knew, but the music for the newest Muppet movies are all penned by Bret McKenzie of that duo. Jemaine has done lots of other roles since (notably in What We Do in the Shadows), and even sang as Tamatoa in Moana.

I was kind of aware of their work, but I didn't know they starred in FotC.
"Mugged" is probably one of my favourite episodes. Their rap was hilarious, and even their hip hop names - Hiphopapomatus and Rhymnocerous made me laugh.
Surely Im not the only one watching His Dark Materials on HBO. Adored the books when I was much younger. Production value is pretty immaculate IMO. Have forgotten the finer points of the plot, but as a fan of the source material other than a few gripes here and there i've agreed with their decisions. Its good.

I just caught up with the 4 episodes. I was a big fan of the books as a kid so it's pretty neat to see a big production.
Feels like a show that won't have a big enough fanbase to last unfortunately.

Was curious about this show. I’m not familiar with the books but heard it was more young adult oriented, whatever that means. Makes me think of movies like Hunger Games, Divergent etc.
Anyone watching Servant on Apple TV? I really like the atmosphere and the story certainly is original. It will be interesting to see if this storyline can go a full season before it gets a little too bizarre.

I suppose its on that side of things, sort of, but I think its more profound than those examples. A closer analog is Harry Potter which had its fair share of adult consumers except HDM is better IMO. When I read the books the story meant much more to me than Harry Potter ever did and I was the exact right age to appreciate Harry Potter during its original run. Im more or less the the same age as the actors in those films. Also James McAvoy is a sure fire win. (the actress playing the main villian is completely killing it too)

For All Mankind is an American science fiction web television series created and written by Ronald D. Moore, Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi and produced for Apple TV+. The series dramatises an alternate history depicting "what would have happened if the global space race had never ended" after the USSR succeeds in the first manned Moon landing.

I am a little disappointed in "Silicon Valley" this season.
It's hard to make success extremely funny. There have been setbacks along the way, but they've been slowly getting to some big breakthrough success to finish up the series.
I think there's been some great highlights along the way. The conflict between Gilfoyle and the HR lady has been pretty funny TBH. I also enjoyed the Mike Judge cameo interaction with Gilfoyle. Jian Yang and Jared are always worth the screen time.
It's still pretty great, one of my favorite shows to watch at any point, but they're focusing on narrative instead of jokes at this point.
