It is an optional skate, so take with a grain of salt

David Rittich taking reps in the starter’s net this morning. Smith not out there. First half of a back-to-back tonight. #Flames

Winning against the Kings in regulation would be nice.
Then beating the Oilers 13-0 would be nicerer. Then I get to post the Leonidis NO MERCY gif in GT thread as the Flames keep pouring it on with huge smiles on their faces.
We have a 47% chance of getting a division seed and only 8% chance of a wildcard, so really we are battling with LA, the Ducks and maybe SJ for the division spots with the wild card not really a factor.
Goiing into the game, we're a toss up with LA 56.1 for us vs 59 for them.
Win in regulation, it goes to Flames 63 vs Kings 51.
Lose in regulation, it goes to Flames 47 vs Kings 68.
You mean 0-2. Two losses including the first game of the season.
If we are including other seasons (and therefore different teams and players) then go back further and see how the record looks.
What part of Edmonton's recent performances cause concern?
Three games left against Oilers this season. Flames win all of them.

As expected, Rittich did have a somewhat decent showing when he subbed in vs the Oilers last time.
6 shots, 2 goals. He let in the last one with a minute left and Calgary was one goal down.
Now, Calgary sucked in that game, and when he came in it was 5-1. And it was only his second appearance this season (and third ever). So it's pretty meaningless.
I'm on board with Smith playing both if he can. Not only was he dialed in prior to the break but he's been spectacular in the 2 games since, even if the team in front of him hasn't been. If he's feeling it, let him run.

We said this last time too and got thumped until a miracle comeback made it look close.
