Loved the bit about Gio and his contract. There was one rush in the 3rd that he lead up the ice that I thought the exact same thing; he's such a rock on the backend and his contract looks great right now.

Nice write up and not seeing the whole game, didn’t realize the top line had such a strong game.

Secondary scoring is going to be a potential Achilles heel for this team. The top line won’t always play great and they definitely won’t always score. This team just has a hard time generating enough offense when that happens. Ultimately they need another scorer up front IMO but the PP and some contributions from the D could help in the short term.

I think bottom 6 would have lower possession stats just by dump and chase. I don't think they have the same freedom to hold on to the puck as the top 6.
