Not only did they change the expansion rules drastically...it was also only one team picking. They obviously went too far. Vegas didn't even try to take the BPA.

Sure. One pace for the 4th best regular season since the loser point started in 04/05. 4th best out of 330 team-seasons.

Wow, has Darling imploded for Carolina. Acquired for a 3rd rnd pick and signed to a 4 yr $16.6M deal, he's put up a 3.02 GAA & .892 sv%. Ouch

It is a cautionary tale about the risks of promoting a backup goalie from another organization.

The league over did it trying to make them competitive.
They also have 10 picks in the first two rounds of the next three drafts. Just loaded with assets and the #1 team in the league. Seems fair to get all that right out of the gate.

What would you expect for a half a billion dollars? Leargest expansion fee yet, and all the owners did very well on that deal. 16 mill for UFA Derek Engeland? Murray will vote Yes again next year.

They just always seem to score like mad the moment you put them on fantasy waivers, don't they?

The Ducks missing the playoffs would be oh so wonderful. Bunch o' scumbags, those guys.

I think the biggest issue people had with Fleury being named is that he hadn't played that many games. At the time the rosters were announced, Subban had played more games for Vegas than Fleury had and Subban had a slightly better record.

Even now, they have the same number of wins

Would it be too much to ask that both they and the Kings miss?

no, Kings certainly don't look like a playoff team of late...their players bragging about how much better they are without Sutter really rubbed me the wrong way too. I don't care if he wasn't your best buddy...respect that he played a huge role in getting your name on the Cup.

Wow. It’s fair to say the Pacific Division as a whole beyond the top two or three teams is pretty terrible. LA and Anaheim both look like long shots to make the playoffs, and the Sharks look like they are barely holding on most nights I see them play.

Yet they win every game.. I'm dying to believe you that they are going to fall off but every day they move up in wins..

It is very odd that the Sharks keep winning. They look to me very much like the 2014-15 Canucks.
In any event, they are an immanently beatable team in a seven game series.

The Ducks and Kings are two points out of both wildcard 2 and the 3rd seed...have you looked at the Atlantic division lately?
TO has 57 points and they are basically home and cool
